Remembering Freddie Gray. There’s now a Baltimore youth center that honors the 25-year-old who died in police custody. The Freddie Gray Youth Empowerment Center is located just 10 miles from where Gray lived, serving as a memorial and symbol of hope. It will ideally set Baltimore’s youth up for success in a city working to rebuild after being rocked by violence and chaos following the death of Freddie Gray. “There’s another side of Baltimore that the uprising didn’t show,” said Dr. Jamal Bryant, Empowerment Temple Church pastor. Bryant’s Empowerment Temple Church dedicated the center to the city’s kids, giving them...

Council Speaker Melissa Mark-Viverito (left) is moving forward with a controversial plan to decriminalize such offenses as urinating in public — part of an effort to rollback on criminal offenses used by police to stop and detain suspects under the “broken windows” approach of Police Commissioner Bill Bratton. Critics have charged that the murder rate and other crimes are already up under Mayor Bill de Blasio due to the tensions with police and new policies against stop and frisk maneuvers. Mark-Viverito appears to believe that criminalizing urination is only a pretext for police stops or a minor offense for the...

Dhoruba Shakur held up a sign that read “How does it feel” while standing very close to where a St. Louis officer was shot in Central West End. Shakur said the goal of the sign was to produce a strong reaction and start a conversation about the issues that have surfaced since Ferguson police officer Darren Wilson shot Michael Brown.

WASHINGTON - Marilyn Mosby, the Baltimore City State’s Attorney, catapulted to national fame when she decided in early May to prosecute six police officers for the death of Freddie Gray. In her remarks, Mosby used her family of Boston police officers as a shield against critics who said she could not fairly prosecute the case. --- snip --- Sources told me to look into Mosby’s family’s personnel records at the Boston Police Department. Two months ago, I put in Public Records Law request for personnel records for Mosby's mother and two uncles. --- snip --- In 2003, Linda Thompson was...

Every time somebody watches a cable TV newscast, or reads a newspaper, it’s more votes for Donald Trump. Even the moonbat media can’t ignore the tsunami of violent crime being committed by welfare-collecting illegal aliens. And now we have reports that Donald Trump was threatened by an escaped billionaire Mexican drug dealer, one of those criminals that all Democrats from Obama on down now want to pretend don’t exist. Illegals are running amok, and the media are angry — at Donald Trump! Odd, though, isn’t it, how the Beautiful People still won’t acknowledge what open borders hath wrought? God forbid...

Let's examine the issues rationally, and see who actually understood the Age of Reason.Last March, California Governor Jerry Brown declared that those who wished existing federal immigration law to be enforced — in the manner that would have saved the late Kate Steinle from a five-times deported, seven-times released felon illegal alien – were: [A]t best … troglodyte, and at worst … un-Christian. In California, if one assumes that the law as written should be followed, one is dubbed either a cave-dweller or an apostate. Meanwhile, sophisticated non-troglodytes in San Francisco have a sheriff — with a criminal record of...

Controversial GOP presidential candidate Donald Trump went on a Twitter rampage after the escape of a notorious drug lord from a Mexican prison this weekend.(VIDEO-AT-LINK) The escape of the world’s most-wanted drug lord from a maximum-security prison in Mexico isn’t a moment to celebrate and gloat over for most people. But most people aren’t Donald Trump. The billionaire real estate developer turned reality TV personality turned Republican presidential candidate has been outspoken in recent days over security issues along the US-Mexico border. In a speech officially launching his campaign last month, Mr. Trump criticized undocumented Mexican immigrants as “rapists” and...

LOS ANGELES (AP) — More than 1,800 immigrants that the federal government wanted to deport were nevertheless released from local jails and later re-arrested for various crimes, according to a government report released Monday. The Immigration and Customs Enforcement report — obtained by an organization that actively opposes illegal immigration — said the re-arrested immigrants were among 8,145 people who were freed between January and August 2014 despite requests from federal agents that they be held for deportation. A fatal shooting in San Francisco has heated up a long-running debate between those who want police to help immigration agents to...

It’s safe to predict that South Carolina Senator Lindsey Graham won’t be the 2016 Republican presidential nominee. Nor will former New York governor George Pataki or Dr. Ben Carson. Many observers doubt The Donald will be the nominee, although I am pleased he has made illegal immigration part of the discussion. On the Democrat side, few political pundits believe Vermont Senator Bernie Sanders, former Virginia senator Jim Webb or former Maryland governor Martin O’Malley will be their party’s nominee. But they might force Hillary Clinton to answer questions… sharing more than her favorite ice cream flavor. So why are these...

An illegal immigrant from Mexico is being held in the Van Buren County Jail for allegedly kidnapping a 13-year-old Florida girl and sexually assaulting her at a home in Hartford. 23-year-old Aurelio Hernandez-Gomez was arraigned over the weekend, and also faces extradition to Florida on the kidnapping charge. The teen will soon be reunited with her family in Florida according to the Van Buren County Sheriff’s Department. She was reported missing on July 7 from Polk County. She was recovered at the same home where police arrested Hernandez-Gomez in the 66-thousand block of 48th Avenue. Child Protective Services took...

LOWELL -- An investigation that began on July 7, when a Lowell police officer found a disheveled and injured girl collapsed in the street, led to the arrest of two men on charges that they violently raped two 14-year-old girls after plying them with alcohol. Describing the case as "an unusually brutal assault," Capt. Timothy Crowley announced the arrests of Henry Espinola, 18, of 79 Andrews St., Unit 2, and Andres Peguero, 18, of 136 Felton St. Both men are charged with three counts of aggravated rape of a child, and two counts of furnishing alcohol to a minor, according...

Heh heh heh.... Real-estate magnate Donald Trump is on a roll. And three-plus weeks into his presidential campaign, he doesn't seem to be slowing down. Not even a phone call from the leader of the national Republican Party — reportedly asking the presidential candidate to "tone it down" when it comes to his crusade against illegal immigration — has had much of an effect. There's a funny thing that happens when you reach your personal threshold of **** you money: Your middle finger gets a lot of exercise. Now this is not to say you should use it willy-nilly, but...

President Obama on Monday commuted the sentences of 46 drug offenders in federal prisons, as part of his administration's effort to reform the criminal justice system. Obama’s clemency to non-violent drug offenders comes as the administration is working to reduce operating costs and overcrowding in federal prisons, as well as to provide relief to inmates who were sent to prison under the harsh sentencing guidelines put in place in the late 1980s as the country was grappling with the crime and violence associated with crack cocaine.

Juan Francisco Lopez-Sanchez, also known as José Inez García Zarate, is a felon who has been deported five times. Lopez-Sanchez is charged in the shooting death of Kathryn Steinle, 32, by all indications a distinguished and compassionate woman. As it happens, victims of foreign nationals in the United States illegally are not limited to innocent civilians. They include police officers such as Danny Oliver. Last October, Luis Enriquez Monroy Bracamontes, a Mexican national in the United States illegally, gunned down Oliver, 47, a Sacramento County Sheriff’s deputy. Bracamontes shot Oliver in the head with a 9mm handgun but the...

Some 276 "sanctuary cities," nearly 50 percent more than previously revealed, released over 8,000 illegal immigrants with criminal records or facing charges free despite federal requests that they be turned over to Immigration and Customs Enforcement for deportation, according to an explosive new report. The Center for Immigration Studies, revealing new numbers it received under the Freedom of Information Act, said that those releases from cities that ignored federal demands came over just eight months and are just part of an even larger release of 17,000 illegals with criminal records. Author Jessica M. Vaughan, director of policy Studies for the...

It’s time to fact-check the fact-checkers. The Washington Post’s Michelle Yee Hee Lee gave Donald Trump four Pinocchios for saying, “They’re bringing crime†across the border from Mexico. The Post scribe added, “Trump clarified that he was referring to cases where undocumented immigrants commit violent crimes or smuggle drugs.†First off, Trump did not put any numbers on his statements. All he said was that some undocumented immigrants commit crimes in the U.S. And we know that is true. Secondly, as even the Washington Post admits, Trump was not talking about all Mexicans, especially not Hispanic citizens. He was...

Trump is right. First, let's secure the border Donald Trump is making a lot of noise, and as a Presidential candidate, he’s on the rise. But, candidates that spark interest early in presidential campaigns never last in the upper atmosphere, and always come hurdling earthward once the real business of campaigning leaps into full swing. However, Trump’s noise should not be ignored. He is gaining this political popularity because of his stance on illegal immigration, and despite corporations running away from him, right-of-center voters are flocking to him. The fascinating part of all of this is that the media’s reporting...
