This tune has an interesting history, going back to the 1880s The Monroe Brothers had a pretty version in the late 30s, but I prefer this 1964 recording of Goodbye Maggie by the Lilly Brothers. Ranch Radio also has one of our favorites by the Lilly Brothers, Dig A Hole in the Meadow  THE WESTERNER https://thewesterner.blogspot.com/

Our tune today - Teneha, Timpson, Bobo and Blair - was recorded by Tex Ritter on Dec. 30, 1947. For some interesting historical background on the tune see Tenaha, Timpson, Bobo, and Blair which quotes Ritter in the song and also see Tenaha, Timpson, Bobo, and Blair by East Texas historian A.P. McDonald.

Its Swingin' Monday on Ranch Radio and here is Roy Hogsed's 1951 recording of Put Some Sugar In Your Shoes. Thursday on ABC’s The View, co-host Joy Behar slammed Wednesday night’s Country Music Awards show for staying out of politics. As nearly every entertainment awards show has made itself part of the resistance against President Trump, Behar was sorely disappointed to see this was one show where Trump’s name wasn’t mentioned. . . Whoopi pointed out that people “voted” to fulfill that duty of resisting Trump. “I'm happy for that,” Behar acknowledged, before touting that she, unlike the country music artists, was willing to take a financial hit in order to be loudly anti-Trump.
