A congressional candidate in Virginia may have an uphill battle going into 2018. A federal grand jury charged Democrat Shaun Brown with fraud, theft, and embezzlement that allegedly took place back in 2012. If convicted, she faces a maximum of 20 years in prison. According to the indictment, Brown was accused of filing fraudulent claims with the Summer Food Service Program as part of the JOBS Community Outreach Development Corp. by inflating the number of children from low-income families in their records in order to receive more money. Her organization received roughly $803,000. She has denied any wrongdoing. “We will...

A Democrat running for a U.S. House seat in Virginia has been indicted on charges of fraud, embezzlement and theft in connection with events that allegedly occurred in 2012. Shaun Brown, 58, appeared in a Norfolk courtroom last week and denied any wrongdoing, the Daily Press of Newport News, Va., reported. She said she intends to fight the charges and be exonerated, the report said. Brown is next scheduled to appear in court Jan. 12 and will plead not guilty, her attorney, James Ellenson, told the Daily Press. Prosecutors said Brown received about $803,000 via her nonprofit organization as a...

“They’ve been burned. They’ve been hammered. They’ve been bludgeoned,” George Washington University law professor Miriam Galston explains to the Washington Post. “They’re trying to survive.” In this heartbreaking discussion during this special time of year, the “they” are the poor, long-suffering folks . . . at the Internal Revenue Service. It is a terrible, too-long-ignored scandal, which should tear at the heartstrings of every American. “Years of conservative attacks on the Internal Revenue Service have greatly diminished the ability of agency regulators to oversee political activity by charities and other nonprofits . . .” posits the recently published Post analysis....

Sen. Rand Paul, R-Ky., argued Thursday that senior Obama administration officials might be guilty of trying to keep President Trump from getting elected last November. "Time to investigate high ranking Obama government officials who might have colluded to prevent the election of @realDonaldTrump! This could be WORSE than Watergate!" Paul tweeted Thursday morning. @RandPaul "Time to investigate high ranking Obama government officials who might have colluded to prevent the election of @realDonaldTrump! This could be WORSE than Watergate!" Paul didn't specify the reason for his tweet, but he wrote it soon after two senior FBI officials involved in the Russian...

Don’t fall for former FBI Director James Comey’s latest tweet claiming that “the FBI is and always will be independent.” In fact, recent reports suggest the FBI now serves as the command center of the Deep State, aptly housed in the J. Edgar Hoover Building. Working hand in hand with the special counsel’s office, the FBI/Deep State is in high gear. Through constant leaks of confidential or embarrassing materials, unmasking classified information about Trump associates, stonewalling Congressional requests for testimony and information about FBI conduct, selective prosecutions, and the coordination and hiring of high-level and deeply-biased partisans, the Deep State...

Perhaps, just perhaps, being cautiously optimistic, we appear to be gaining momentum toward a massive dose of sunlight on the 2016 FBI/DOJ “Trump Project”. In the interview below, Senator Rand Paul outlines his concerns with the intelligence use of FISA warrants and then drops a verbal MOAB right in the middle of the interview. After he outlines the general FISA concern, Senator Rand Paul cuts straight to the heart of matter and righteously points to the increasing evidence that the DOJ and FBI were in collusion against a presidential candidate. Must Watch:

As of late, we have watched Republican lawmakers point a lot of fingers and toss out a bunch of theories as to who should be held responsible for sourcing, procuring and disseminating the discredited ‘Trump dossier.’ A new report reveals lawmakers are secretly building a criminal case against top Justice Department and FBI officials for mishandling “the contents of a dossier that describes alleged ties between President Donald Trump and Russia.” POLITICO reports: A group of House Republicans has gathered secretly for weeks in the Capitol in an effort to build a case that senior leaders of the Justice Department...

Eight Hours of Questioning – FBI Asst. Director McCabe Loses Dossier Memory, Brings Full Contingent of FBI Lawyers… FBI Deputy Director Andrew McCabe faced about eight hours of questioning behind closed doors during the House Intelligence Committee yesterday. Unlike prior HPSCI closed hearings remarkably there were no leaks; which would generally indicate the content was adverse

JACKSONVILLE, Fla. - Corrine Brown will have to appeal her conviction and sentence from behind bars, a judge ruled Wednesday. U.S. District Judge Timothy Corrigan denied a motion from Brown's attorney, James Smith, requesting a bond pending appeal. Corrigan said Brown must start her prison sentence as scheduled.

“Just Incredible”: Tom Fitton Stunned After DOJ Official Bruce Ohr Ditches Senate Intel Committee Hearing (VIDEO) Fox Business Network reported Monday afternoon that demoted Justice Department official Bruce Ohr unexpectedly ditched his hearing before the Senate Intelligence Committee. “Demoted Deputy Attorney General Bruce Ohr was set to testify before the Senate Intelligence Committee today. The testimony never happened,” reported the news network. Asked if he was surprised by the news, Fitton replied, “unfortunately it’s par for the course from the Justice Department and FBI in terms of cooperating with Congress,” “You may remember Andy McCabe had to reschedule his interviews...

Deep state cadres pose a clear and present danger to democracy in America. America must “tend to this garden of democracy or else things could fall apart quickly. That's what happened in Germany in the 1930s which, despite the democracy of the Weimar Republic and centuries of high-level cultural and scientific achievements, Hitler rose to dominate.” It was the sort of thing one would expect from a UC Berkeley sophomore but the speaker was the 44th President of the United States in a December 5 address to the Economic Club of Chicago. This was the president who thought “Austrian” was...

Special Counsel Robert Mueller is accused of acting in complete disregard for the law and must be removed. And so, too, must his entire team. There is devastating new evidence to suggest that Mueller and his staff of lawyers improperly, if not illegally, obtained tens of thousands of private documents belonging to President-elect Trump's Presidential Transition Team (PTT). The material includes emails, laptops and cell phones used by 13 PTT members. Critically, a "significant volume of privileged material" was taken by Mueller, according to the Trump transition lawyer, and then used by the special counsel team in its investigation. Mueller's...

As of Wednesday evening, as Nicholas Fondacaro at NewsBusters observed, the three broadcasting networks were not reporting the content of the most damning text messages exchanged between now-former Robert Mueller investigative team members Peter Strzok and his mistress Lisa Page. Meanwhile, coverage seen Wednesday evening at the Associated Press predictably treated the matter as a Republicans-attack dispute. Almost no one seems to be interested in hearing from what other veteran or former FBI officials think about the Mueller team's and Bureau leadership's conduct. One exception is Elizabeth MacDonald at the Fox Business network, who interviewed former FBI Assistant Director Jim...

President Donald Trump stopped to speak to reporters on his way out of the White House on Friday, criticizing the FBI on his way to speak to graduates of the FBI Academy in Quantico, Virginia. "It's a shame what's happened with the FBI," Trump said. "Everybody, not me, everybody, the level of anger at what they've been witnessing with respect to the FBI is certainly very sad." Later, asked if he would consider a pardon for Michael Flynn, his former national security adviser, Trump replied: “I don't want to talk about pardons for Michael Flynn yet. We'll see what happens....

Over a year ago I wrote about the discovery of a curious aspect of New York Governor Andrew Cuomo’s staffing situation. Nearly half (roughly 40%) of the people working directly for Cuomo were paid by other government departments rather than falling under the payroll umbrella of the executive branch. While not technically illegal in the view of most legal analysts at the time, it was yet another indicator of a general lack of transparency in the state capitol. But as it turned out, that practice continued after it was exposed and crossed over into some other investigations which were already...

However, reasonable people cannot disagree on this—Gloria Allred is either a hack or disgrace. And there should be an ethics investigation conducted by the American Bar Association to find out which it is.

CHICAGO (CBS) — Chicago Public Schools CEO Forrest Claypool is resigning after a report concluded that he lied to ethics investigators. “I have accomplished all I can accomplish at CPS,” Claypool said at a news conference. “Even good men can make stupid mistakes. I look forward to the next chapter.” Claypool leaves Dec. 31. Dr. Janice Jackson will be the new interim head of the nation’s fourth-largest school system.
