We live in a world of short-term memories and long-term memory deficiencies. If the 24-hour news cycle was any indication, Americans appear to be bouncing from one catastrophic mass shooting to the next, with hardly any breathing room. Like this is just a regular occurrence America has learned to endure because… guns. It’s the prevalence of firearms in the hands of the people, the anti-gunners say. Calls to limit, rewrite, redefine, or outright dispose of the 2nd Amendment are rampant. But no one is looking at the data. If they did, they would realize something is really, really, really wrong...

Is the Obama Administration Trafficking in Illegals or Refugees through UPS Flights & then Moved on Buses? Is the Obama Administration Trafficking in Illegals or Refugees through UPS Flights & then Moved on Buses? In a video that appeared earlier this month, a man is claiming that he videoed several buses that are carrying people who were brought in from a United Parcel Service flight. He discusses what he saw prior to filming which he described as people who came in on a UPS flight into Harrisburg International Airport. He also claims that it was supposed to be a parcel...

Psychologist Rob Bretherton talks about his new book and the way suspicion can overcome rationalityWhy are conspiracy theories so attractive? There is not so much of a difference between conspiracy theorists and the rest of us. We are drawn to the idea of conspiracy because it resonates with us; we understand the idea of people being self-interested and not having our best interests at heart, and having hidden motives and getting together to do shady stuff. Conspiracy theories extend upon that and tap into these assumptions and fears we have about the world. But we all have them, that’s why...

"The multi-state military training exercise known as Jade Helm 15 is done. There did not turn out to be any FEMA camps populated with anti-Obama patriots plucked from their homes by American special forces. Desert regions of the United States do not seem to have been turned over to ISIS or Russia in an attempt by the government to something-something-something ... Still, it's a shame one-third of Republican voters and half of all Tea Party supporters moved on so fast. If they had not, they might have noticed that after the still-secret exercises of Jade Helm 15, the state of...

The zombie narrative, popularized by the hit television series The Walking Dead, in which a small group of Americans attempt to survive in a zombie-ridden, post-apocalyptic world where they’re not only fighting off flesh-eating ghouls but cannibalistic humans, plays to our fears and paranoia. Yet as journalist Syreeta McFadden points out, while dystopian stories used to reflect our anxieties, now they reflect our reality, mirroring how we as a nation view the world around us, how we as citizens view each other, and most of all how our government views us. Fear the Walking Dead—AMC’s new spinoff of its popular...

And a Child shall lead them... http://www.allenbwest.com/2015/10/7th-grader-explains-what-her-teacher-would-do-if-she-didnt-deny-the-existence-of-god/ “Today I was given an assignment in school that questioned my faith and told me that God was not real. Our teacher had started off saying that the assignment had been giving problems all day. We were asked to take a poll to say whether God is fact, opinion or a myth and she told anyone who said fact or opinion was wrong and God was only a myth,” Wooley told board members,” according to EAG News. The teacher “started telling kids they were completely wrong and that when kids argued we were...

For the past several years, medical professionals have warned that the federal electronic medical records mandate -- buried in the trillion-dollar Obama stimulus of 2009 -- would do more harm than good. Their diagnosis, unfortunately, is on the nose. The Quack-in-Chief peddled his tech-centric elixir as a cost-saving miracle. "This will cut waste, eliminate red tape, and reduce the need to repeat expensive medical tests," he crowed at the time. In theory, of course, modernizing record-collection is a good idea, which many private health care providers...

The most poisonous claim in the dominant narrative is that our criminal justice system is a product and a source of racial inequity. The drug war in particular is said to be infected by racial bias. “Mass incarceration” is allegedly destroying black communities by taking fathers away from their families and imposing crippling criminal records on released convicts. Finally, prison is condemned as a huge waste of resources. Nothing in this dominant narrative is true. Prison remains a lifetime achievement award for persistence in criminal offending. Drug enforcement is not the driving factor in the prison system, violent crime is....

Supporting psychological needs So, when significant numbers of teachers tell us they are considering leaving the profession, we ought to consider it a motivational concern. And one of our reactions should be to carefully consider the extent to which we offer them a working environment that respects their needs as human beings. We simply aren’t doing this. In fact, there is every reason to believe that current educational policy is systematically stifling people’s psychological needs. As an example, one study clearly demonstrated how a system narrowly focused upon pupil achievement and standardised testing had invaded teachers working lives so much...

Money section get to the mind early... in schools... As the proud parent of two elementary school-aged children, I am extremely concerned about my children being used as guinea pigs in the Department of Education's misguided quest to reinvent the mathematical wheel. A spokeswoman for the department, Jessica Hickernell, was quoted as saying, "It's a transition, so it takes awhile." While "awhile" may seem perfectly acceptable to Ms. Hickernell and the Department of Education, I could not disagree more as I recognize the elementary years as, unarguably, the most influential ones in shaping their entire educational future.

I have read several stories about Obama visiting the small Oregon town where the shooting occurred, specifically the stories about how the Town doesn't want Obama there. I don't know what it is, but every-time I have read these stories I got a chill down my spine. Like there is some sorta set-up taking place. I dunno why, but if the left is so desperate to get gun control I feel all it would take is an incident in this town while the president is there to solidify the left's push for gun control. Again, not sure why I get...

Friday in a press conference at the White House, President Barack Obama mocked gun rights activists as “absolutists” and declared they “think that any gun safety measures are somehow an assault on freedom or communistic or a plot by me.” Obama said, “And if we’re going to do something about that, the politics has to change.

The family of 14-year-old Muslim student Ahmed Mohamed is planning to take legal action against the school for calling police after a teacher discovered a “homemade clock†that looked eerily similar to an explosive device, while questions continue to be raised about whether the incident was a “purposeful hoax.†Amid comments from electronics experts who say it appears that Mohamed simply took apart a 1970s era alarm clock and reassembled it in a pencil box, Judge Andrew Napolitano said the family may face charges if the incident is proven to be a publicity stunt.“If this was part of a purposeful...

Osama bin Laden was a "good man" who only decided to wage war against the United States after it broke its Cold War promises to rebuild Afghanistan once Russia was expelled from the country, Nation of Islam leader Louis Farrakhan said in an address to his followers, a handful of Muslims and several Jews Sunday. In the video of the address (at 2 hours, 36 minutes), Farrakhan – who spent the better part of an hour-and-a-half attempting to convince Mulsims that he, too, is Islamic – embarked on an explanation of the reasons bin Laden founded al Qaeda, which he...
