Those goals read more like the goals of the Democrat Party today.

The video was great, btw.

I remember when libs loved this speech. They used it throughout the '80s to shame Reagan supporters. Now, they don't use it at all.

Curious.

He was one of the most brilliant and most completely underestimated and defamed Presidents of all time. I miss the security and straightforwardness his era provided to all Americans. He was very fair-minded and forward-thinking. Eisenhower developed the national Interstate system; he racially integrated schools and the military, and he developed a program that Kennedy would later re-name the Peace Corps and claim all the credit. Eisenhower pushed through virulent Democrat opposition to secure the first Civil Rights bill since the days of Reconstruction; yet again, the Kennedys took all the credit for extending Civil Rights to African-Americans.

It’s worth noting that I have never felt really excited about any candidate for President since Eisenhower, until Donald Trump. Trump has the breadth of vision and leadership qualities we desperately need. Even so, Ike had the profound depth of soul that only being a wartime leader in the trenches can give. Meeting him when I was a teenager was one of the most intensely meaningful moments of my life.

Also add to that list his wonderful immigrant deportation program.

We should be copying Eisenhower's deportation plan. I wonder how many of those who say that deportation is impossible actually believe and instead want to spread disinformation.

There are numerous effective direct and indirect ways to deport illegals that in the long term will save us resources and our country.

You are so right!! Operation Wetback, over a million deported, when the population was only around 125 million.

remember to ask ike why he left out the word “congressional,” of his speechwriter, in his famous military, industrial complex speech!

Most can probably guess why, but it’s another one of those little eye-openers that pop into the open now and then.
