[Catholic Caucus] Why Ecclesia Dei Communities Should Avoid Concelebrating the Chrism Mass: A Response to Michael Charlier The following article was first published at OnePeterFive and is reprinted here with permission.—PAKIn the news cycle recently there has been much coverage of Pope Francis’s statement to a group of French bishops that all priests in a diocese, regardless of affiliation, should be present to concelebrate the Chrism Mass with their bishop each year (see this article). As a result, the ever-simmering question of concelebration has once more come to a boil.Respected German traditionalist Michael Charlier wrote an article (translated at...

Irish Government (!) FORBIDS Receiving Communion, ConcelebrationAhead of "allowing" again Masses on May 10, the Irish government issued rubrics for religious services. In modern states which recognise religious freedom, it is an exclusive matter of the Church to decide how to worship - not so in Ireland where politicians believe they are entitled to decide over the liturgy. Thus, they imposed the following liturgical rubrics:• Those handing out Holy Communion must wear face masks or must stand behind a screen. Further they must disinfect their hands.• The faithful must use disinfects before receiving Communion.• The state suggests that “Communion could be...

Concelebration in the Roman Colleges (3) Today: a couple of dogs that failed to bark in the night. (1) Dog A is the CDW, still nominally under the direction of the disgraced not-sufficiently-bergoglian Cardinal Sarah. There is no evidence in the Working Paper which we are considering that the CDW was consulted. Yet the Working Paper is exclusively about a liturgical matter! Here we have another example of bergoglian method: the dodge of not entrusting something to an actually relevant dicastery. There would, you see, be the terrible risk that they might not come up with the right answer. After...

Beware the Bergoglian “Working Group”! by Christopher A. Ferrara June 30, 2017 Writing for Corrispondenza Romanza (translation mine), Roberto de Mattei reports the latest twist in the affair of the "secret commission" to "reinterpret" Humanae Vitae. "In the Vatican," he writes, "this rumor is circulating. A collaborator [of Pope Bergoglio] asked him if it is true that there exists a commission to 'reinterpret' Humanae Vitae, and he is said to have responded: 'It's not a commission, it's a working group.'" "This does not involve merely linguistic artifice to hide the truth," de Mattei continues, "but word games that reveal how...

De Mattei: Francis imposes concelebration in the Priestly Colleges of Rome Roberto de Mattei Corrispondenza Romana June 28, 2017 There is this rumour going around in the Vatican. One of Pope Francis’ collaborators asked him if it were true that a commission had been set up “to re-interpret” Humanae Vitae and he responded “It is not a commission, it’s a study group”. This is not only a linguistic ploy to hide the truth, but a play on words which reveal how the cult of contradiction is the essence of this pontificate. Monsignor Gilfredo Marengo, coordinator of the “study group”, sums up...

A team of diocesan officials will meet Monday night with parishioners of St. Mary Magdalene to explain why their popular priest and parish founder, the Rev. John Cunningham, remains suspended for allegedly concelebrating Mass with a non-Catholic priest and how the bishop is trying to resolve the issue. A lengthy letter announcing the meeting was read at Saturday's Mass and will be read at all of today's Masses at Williams Community School gym at Williams Gateway Airport in Mesa, where the parishioners regularly meet while their permanent campus is being built in Gilbert. Bishop Thomas J. Olmsted announced he has...

A Gilbert Catholic priest, the Rev. John "Jack" Cunningham, founding pastor of two East Valley parishes, was suspended Wednesday afternoon pending further investigation for allegedly concelebrating a Eucharistic Mass with a non-Catholic clergyman. Bishop Thomas Olmsted of the Roman Catholic Diocese of Phoenix ordered Cunningham removed from duties at St. Mary Magdalene Catholic Church parish in Gilbert, which the priest founded in July 2002. He previously spent 17 years at St. Bridget Catholic Parish in Mesa, which he organized in June 1985. "In the language of the church, Father Cunningham allegedly engaged in the forbidden concelebration of the Eucharistic Sacrifice...
