  • 'Hillary Beat Trump' website lets people pretend Clinton won the presidential election

Talk about your fake news.... A new website, HillaryBeatTrump.org, claims to tell the news "from the Real America where the majority rules." The site is written as if former Secretary of State Hillary Clinton defeated Donald Trump in the November 2016 presidential election. The satirical website doesn't hold back on its thoughts, with headlines ranging from "Revelation: God comes out as Hillary supporter," "President Clinton awards Obama the Congressional Medal of Freedom," and "Historians say Clinton's presidency is already in all-time top five." Other headlines take a not-so-subtle jab at President Trump, like "NYT pans Clinton's "oppressively intelligent press conference"...

We live in a world where Fake News is overlooked and even encouraged Google couldn’t get Hillary Clinton elected president but now they’re going deep into the world of communication as self-appointed scrubbers of “hate speech” online. Hate speech to you could be Madonna saying at last month’s Washington March that she thinks of “blowing up the White House”. Hate speech to Google could be posting that you think “Donald Trump makes a better president than Hillary Clinton ever would”.

Arizona-based tech firm Levementum LLC, which opened an Indianapolis office less than a year ago, announced expansion plans Wednesday that include creating as many as 175 jobs in Indiana over the next five years. The customer-relationship management consultancy, which has 11 Indiana employees, plans to move in March to a 5,000-square-foot office space in The Union 525 building at 525 S. Meridian St. in downtown Indianapolis. The company has been housed in co-working spaces in Fountain Square and Fletcher Place with some employees working remotely. Indiana economic development officials said the company plans to hire consultants, developers and strategic account...

A few months ago I wrote about how you can encrypt your entire life in less than an hour. Well, all the security in the world can’t save you if someone has physical possession of your phone or laptop, and can intimidate you into giving up your password. And a few weeks ago, that’s precisely what happened to a US citizen returning home from abroad. On January 30th, Sidd Bikkannavar, a US-born scientist at NASA’s Jet Propulsion Laboratory flew back to Houston, Texas from Santiago, Chile. On his way through the airport, Customs and Border Patrol agents pulled him aside....

CoverGirl’s prized cover boy is under fire after tweeting that he's afraid to go to Africa for fear of contracting Ebola. Teen makeup artist James Charles became the darling of the internet and the press after CoverGirl announced their gender-stereotype-busting “first male CoverGirl” in October. Now Charles is under fire for his alleged “anti-blackness.” On Thursday, Affinity Magazine reported Charles tweeted that he was afraid of getting Ebola from traveling to Africa:
  • IT Services Giant Accenture Plans U.S. Hiring Spree (15,000+ jobs)

Accenture said on Friday it would create 15,000 jobs in the United States, as IT services firms brace for a more protectionist U.S. technology visa program under President Donald Trump. The company is domiciled in Dublin, Ireland, but a majority of its more than 380,000 employees are in India. IT services companies came under the spotlight after Trump said that his administration would focus on creating more jobs for U.S. workers, who had been affected by the outsourcing of jobs abroad. Major IT service companies, particularly those based in India, use H-1B visas to fly engineers to the United States...
  • Did Donald Trump Use Artificial Intelligence to Win the Election?

According to Scout.ai, a publication of journalists, professors, and science fiction authors, the answer is a resounding YES. It is even possible that Donald Trump used data analytics to determine which cities, and states to visit, as well as commanded his own personal botnet army that outnumbered Hillary Clinton’s 5 to 1. Naturally, I was skeptical of everything this article claims, I even slept on this story before hitting publish. I’ve since looked into their claims and they appear to be telling the truth about the technology and people involved. What is unknown is the extent and success of what...

No one ever expected a reality TV star would one day be the president of the United States. When it comes to considering the unlikely, maybe it’s best to keep telling yourself this. • Solution to Trump’s H1B visa restrictions is to shift from outsourcing towards ‘nearshoring’

For decades, H1B visas have been one of the cornerstones of the traditional IT outsourcing business model. In many ways, the possibility of legally sending workers to the US has allowed Indian firms to offer an enticing service: the client gets to work face to face with less expensive engineers that are authorized to temporarily work in the US, yet can also leverage a much larger team of offshore talent that is orchestrated by the on-site, visa-holding resources. The proposition is hard to beat: not only is it inexpensive, but the model can help solve time-zone issues thanks to a...

The hunt for potentially habitable planets outside of our solar system is one of the most exciting frontiers of science, and you can become a part of it without ever having to leave the comfort of your own home. This week, MIT and Carnegie Science Institute released a huge dataset containing close to 61,000 measurements of over 1600 stars. These measurements contain data that could potentially identify thousands of new exoplanets, many of which might be Earth-like in their nature. Unfortunately, the MIT and Carnegie Institute team simply doesn’t have the capacity to trawl through all of this information,...

Internet satellite company OneWeb — the poster child for SoftBank 's pledge to President Donald Trump to invest billions of dollars in the U.S. — will open a "high volume" factory that will build three satellites per day, CEO Greg Wyler told "Squawk Alley" on Friday. The factory will be on NASA property in Florida, and start operating this year, Wyler said. SoftBank said in December that it would invest $1 billion in OneWeb, taking a 40 percent stake. With that investment, Wyler said the company would create 3,000 new high-tech, highly skilled manufacturing and engineering jobs. At its new...

Some guy has developed a phone bot that will call the Indian scamming "Windows Support" phone numbers that appear on the "You're computer has been infected, call this number" virus screens than we have all seen at one time or another. The call is automated with a pre-recorded "Hello.........can you hear me.......yes......uh-huh....yes.....un-huh......yes.....Hold on a sec, there's someone at the door.......Sorry, I got distracted, can you start over again....yes.....un-huh....", etc. He claims he was able to call one center 300 times and the center phone was eventually disconnected. • Printed human body parts could soon be available for transplant

    The Economist ^ | January 28, 2017
EVERY year about 120,000 organs, mostly kidneys, are transplanted from one human being to another. Sometimes the donor is a living volunteer. Usually, though, he or she is the victim of an accident, stroke, heart attack or similar sudden event that has terminated the life of an otherwise healthy individual. But a lack of suitable donors, particularly as cars get safer and first-aid becomes more effective, means the supply of such organs is limited. Many people therefore die waiting for a transplant. That has led researchers to study the question of how to build organs from scratch. One promising approach...

Intel chief executive Brian Krzanich used a surprise Oval Office appearance Wednesday to announce a $7 billion investment in an Arizona factory that has sat empty since construction wrapped up three years ago. The chipmaker said the factory, called Fab 42, will employ 3,000 when it opens in 2020 or 2021 - nearly a decade behind schedule. The news suggests Intel is making progress in deploying a new production technology, called extreme ultraviolet (EUV), which will enable smaller features on its microprocessors....

David about the controversy on the travel ban to US for citizens from seven countries, Indian fears over H-1B visas and whether Pakistan should be part of the travel ban list: There has been legal pushback on the travel ban by the Trump administration. Why do you defend this policy? It is a great move to protect the lives of US citizens. Radical Islamic terrorists have declared a war on the civilised world. There are many...

The shrieking banshees behind the vagina-spangled Women’s March have decided that parading through the streets of D.C. covered in cardboard genitalia just isn’t enough – we need a strike. The Women’s March tweeted out Monday morning a call for a women’s strike: [captured tweet about women's strike] It’s not clear what all the “strike” would entail, and there wasn’t an attached date so the rest of us can plan our celebrations accordingly. Or plan to pour bleach in our eyes, depending on the abundance of anatomical signage and furry armpits. The march and the future strike are just two examples...

IOWA CITY — Her lip quivering, Patrisse Cullors’ heart sank. It was 2013, and she was in a motel room on a website, waiting for the news of George Zimmerman’s verdict. Guilty, or not guilty, in the killing of Trayvon Martin — a black 17-year-old who was fatally shot by a neighborhood watch volunteer while on his way home from buying candy at a convenience store. “Not guilty, and they say not guilty, and they continue to say not guilty until they say, ‘not guilty of all charges,’” Cullors, 32, of Los Angeles, recalled for a packed audience of hundreds...
