California Gov. Gavin Newsom (D) responded to the Saturday night mass shooting in Monterey Park by claiming people with “large capacity clips… are perpetuating lunacy.” Newsome said: “It’s always a weapon of mass destruction isn’t it?” He continued, “I mean, I get it, we can talk about the anomalous nature of this and it certainly is. But what is also anomalous is the fact that there’s a pattern here in the United States of America, these mass shootings that doesn’t exist anywhere else in the world, at least the free world.

President Biden on Tuesday called on Congress to ban assault weapons and high-capacity magazines and to close loopholes in the background check system after a gunman killed 10 people at a grocery store in Boulder, Colo. “I don’t need to wait another minute let alone an hour to take common sense steps that will save lives in the future and to urge my colleagues in the House and Senate to act,” Biden said in remarks at the White House Tuesday afternoon. Biden called on the Senate to “immediately pass” two House-passed bills that would expand background checks for firearm sales....

Democrat presidential hopeful Joe Biden spoke in Hudson, New Hampshire, this week and told attendees that it is “rational” to prohibit “50 clips in a weapon.” Ryan Saavedra quoted Biden maligning the absence of “a rational policy” that makes it illegal to have “20, 30, 40, 50 clips in a weapon.” Also in Hudson, Biden intimated that gun owners who cling to their AR-15s and AK-47s are no match for the government. He made reference to gun owners who quote Thomas Jefferson’s statement on the tension that exists between free men and the rulers who wish to subjugate them, a...

Concord, NH – Presidential hopeful Joe Biden demonstrated his lack of basic firearms knowledge yet again on Friday, when he declared that citizens should not be able to possess “a magazine with 100 clips in it.” Biden’s latest baffling comment came during a campaign stop in New Hampshire. “I believe in the Second Amendment, but nobody says you can have a round – a magazine with 100 clips in it!” he told the cheering crowd. “100 b-bullets in it,” he stammered a second later, recognizing his mistake. Understanding basic firearms knowledge has been a struggle for Biden in the past....

There are two certainties following nearly every mass shooting event: Cable news television will have its programming schedule set for the next 72 hours, and a significant number of gun control advocates will reveal they lack even a basic understanding of the items they wish to regulate. The first certainty is to be expected. After all, if it bleeds it leads. The second certainty is more remarkable. It’s remarkable that so many proponents of stricter regulations appear to be generally ignorant of not just the minutiae of firearms, but also the basics. It’s also remarkable that this ignorance continues unabated,...

It’s time to speak out some hard truths to the children participating in the so-called “student-led” national walkout and the broader “school safety” movement. Let’s call it speaking truth to power, because there are some very powerful forces blocking most of these young people from hearing these truths — the traditional media, Hollywood and the rest of the culture movers, Democratic leaders, most school leaders and the big activist organizations using the children as pawns for their own agenda. First, despite all the hot air from the above groups of people, all Americans agree on a few things. First, students...

Liberal Fox News commentator Marie Harf insisted on Friday that supporters of the Second Amendment can also question if people need “high magazine clips.” ... “You can be a supporter of the Second Amendment and and also say, ‘maybe we shouldn’t have high magazine clips,’ for example,” she said, seemingly unaware that she just used a non-existent gun term.

The 26-year-old man who walked into a Sutherland Springs church and opened fire did so with a variant of the AR-15, a popular rifle that is based on the military’s M-16, police said Sunday. The rifle used by Devin Kelley was the Ruger AR-556, Texas Department of Public Safety Regional Director Freeman Martin said in a news conference. The AR-15 is more of a category than a specific weapon. It is known for being customizable, with hundreds of variants, each with its own characteristics. Ruger’s AR-15 variant, the AR-556, comes with a suggested retail price of $849 and weighs 6.5...

Okay, here are some clips from a past Disney film and I thought this was a good idea to start with "Robin Hood" and then have other FReepers go about adding simliarities.

One idea he should embrace: a ban on extended ammo clips. The State of the Union Address is usually among the most important and least memorable of presidential speeches. The speech itself, in an august setting, is an opportunity for a president to break through in a new way. TV and radio carry it live, and it's hard for the average citizen to avoid seeing at least a piece of it. It's a real chance for a White House to tell the American people "This is where we stand, this is why we are here, this is what we believe...

In the wake of the attempted assassination of a congresswoman, a New Jersey senator is pursuing gun legislation to restrict the capacity of semiautomatic firearm magazines. Sen. Frank Lautenberg, a Democrat, announced Monday his intentions to draft legislation this month that would prohibit the manufacture and sale of high-capacity magazines, the firearm device that holds bullets for semiautomatic firearms. The legislation would specifically ban magazines holding more than 10 rounds, Lautenberg said. The suspect in the shooting, Jared Loughner, reportedly used a 33-round magazine during the Jan. 8 incident in Tucson, Ariz., which left U.S. Rep. Gabrielle Giffords critically wounded...

Should a situation arise at the Weston schools that requires an armed response, local police are ready to answer the call. Last week, officers in the Weston Police Department, including Chief John Troxell, participated in high-tension rifle training exercises to prepare them for emergency shooter situations. The exercises were held over the course of three days at the rifle range on Valley Forge Road and were led by School Violence Solutions, an active shooter training program. The instructor of the program was Allan Garcia, a police sergeant with the Middletown Police Department in Rhode Island. “Since Columbine, local police...
