Two climate activists who blocked traffic in the German city of Stuttgart earlier this year missed their court date because they flew to Bali and Indonesia, for a round trip of 23,000 kilometers producing 7.9 tons of CO2 emissions. In September 2022, Yannick S. and his girlfriend Luisa S., both members of the Last Generation activist group, blocked commuter traffic in Stuttgart. The two were cited by police, but when their court date arrived, it was revealed that neither could attend because they were on the other side of the planet on vacation. The two climate activists are now being...
  • The Earth again is in jeopardy, and powerful politicians have only a few years to save us

The mainstream media's Russian collusion story, based on no actual evidence, has almost run its course. So have the sexual assault stories about Supreme Court nominee Brett Kavanaugh. They never should have been printed because there was never any actual evidence or witnesses who said the assaults occurred. The economy is thriving instead of collapsing, which had been the prediction. Tax cuts are helping the entire economy instead of just the rich, as we were told. Deputy Attorney General Rod Rosenstein has not been fired, as we have been told (multiple times) would happen. Health care costs are stabilizing instead...

Researchers released a report this week revealing “ultralow surface temperatures” in East Antarctica that surpass the coldest temperatures ever recorded on the earth’s surface. The lowest measured air temperature on earth is −89.2 °C (−129 F) on 23 July 1983, observed at Vostok Station in Antarctica, but new data published in Geophysical Research Letters this week, has found that some 100 different locations on the East Antarctic Plateau reached temperatures of -98° C (-144° F) during the Antarctic polar night between 2004–2016. A team from the National Snow and Ice Data Center (NSIDC) at the University of Colorado Boulder have...
  • Remember how hot it used to get before 'global warming'?

I am nostalgic for the days before the great global warming and climate change panic. Yesterday in Springfield, Illinois it was forecasted to be 97 degrees, but it only hit 92. The record high for this day was 104 in 1934. It is a shame that it has only been colder for 84 straight years. In reverence to Michael Mann and others we should adjust the 1930s temperatures down because they just don't match the agenda. The record-high temperature in Springfield was 112 on July 14, 1954, and it was over 100 for 29 days in 1954 during the 1945-1976...

Climate change is back in the news as President-Elect Donald Trump threatens to roll back much of the Obama climate agenda. The Obama administration added 229 major regulations at an additional annual cost of $108 billion, many of which involve energy policy. The "Clean Power Plan" is one such regulatory behemoth, jacking up the cost of energy under the guise of saving the planet from global warming. Of course, the left believes that Trump will mandate dirty air and water, encouraging pollution on a mass scale. After all, Republicans prefer living in a toxic waste dump world, exposing themselves and...
  • Administration Doesn’t Expect Election Outcome to Have Big Impact on Paris Climate Accord

A day after Donald Trump pledged to “cancel billions in global warming payments to the United Nations,” top administration climate officials said Thursday that the outcome of next week’s election would not likely have a major impact on the international momentum driving the Paris climate accord, despite the fact that “the candidates have very different views on climate.” The Paris agreement, the most ambitious climate pact yet negotiated by the U.N., enters into force on Friday. Despite Trump’s threats to walk away from the agreement as president, one of the officials said that although the accord allows for countries to...

  • Senate votes to kill Obama climate rules(WHAT?!)

The battle to save the coal industry by blocking the EPA's new rules on carbon emissions switched to the Senate yesterday and resulted in a victory. The vote - 52-46 - was largely symbolic because the president has indicated he will veto the legislation and supporters do not have anywhere near the 66 votes necessary to override Obama's action. But the fight against these rules is also happening in federal court where there is a better chance to defeat the plans of the president.
  • Will Obama respond to Russia in Syria?

Once upon a time, or more precisely September 10, 2014, President Barack Obama spoke of the core principle of his presidency, to “degrade and ultimately destroy” the Islamic State of Iraq and the Levant (ISIS). Today, the core has become somewhat miniscule as the U.S., conscious of its failures in Syria as in other Middle East countries, intends to reduce its role and to carry out a more modest policy.
