I just watched "Killing Jesus". To say I was disappointed is an understatement. I found it unbearable. I understand adding pieces between the lines to flesh out the story for TV, but totally re-writing the Bible is beyond the pale. The stories of John the Baptist death, the trial before Pilot, and especially Judas and the 30 pieces of silver are totally rewritten, and the original was much better. I saw no one in this film worthy of worship, much less praise. Sorry, O'Reilly - You missed the mark on this one.

Over the weekend, the religious film "Heaven is for Real" performed extremely well at the box office, earning $22.5 million. It's the largest Easter opening for a faith-based film, blowing past Johnny Depp's "Transcendence." It's also the fourth recent Christian film that has taken off at theaters, following "Son of God," "God's Not Dead," and Darren Aronofsky's "Noah." The success of the genre has spurred discussions about a Bible boom at the box office and whether 2014 is the year of the Christian film. But BoxOffice.com chief analyst Phil Contrino tells us we shouldn't be surprised by how well these...

Albany, Ga., population 76,000, is a three-hour drive south of Atlanta and not the first place in the world you'd expect to find a movie star. But visit the well-kept grounds of Sherwood Baptist Church here on a Sunday, as the congregation's 3,000 members gather to sing and pray, and you're likely to spot a few. There's Tracy Goode, who played coach Brady Owens in the 2006 high-school football epic Facing the Giants; there's Harris Malcom, who played the father of Kirk Cameron's firefighter character in the 2008 drama Fireproof. And if he's not in New York editing a movie,...

"We didn't make this movie to make money. We want people to walk out of the theater and desire a closer walk with God." Three years ago, the folks at Sherwood Baptist Church in Albany, Georgia, believed God wanted them to make a movie. Now, says a report in the Washington Post, the low budget film funded by church donations, Facing the Giants, is playing at more than 400 theaters around the country. According to the report, the movie -- whose female lead is a homemaker and male lead is an associate pastor, both with no acting experience-- has...
