One of the duties of the Kentucky Secretary of State is to oversee elections. So shouldn't it seem a bit strange that such a person, Alison Lundergan Grimes, acts in a blatantly unprofessional manner by publicly gloating over the loss of a candidate she opposes by mocking him? Not to MSNBC's Chris Matthews. He not only failed to question this, he happily gushed over Grimes while speculating about the next step in her political career. The Hardball host was heard enthusiastically commenting on Mrs Trump's 'runway walk' as she joined her husband for his victory speech in Indiana on Tuesday. While Brian Williams was speaking about the impact the result would have on the Republican party, Matthews could be heard talking about Mrs Trump's appearance. Apparently unaware he was speaking into a hot mic, Matthews said: 'Did you see her walk? Runway walk. My God is that good. I could watch that runway show.'

Monday on MSNBC’s “Hardball” while discussing his New York Magazine article about Republican presidential front-runner Donald Trump entitled “America Has Never Been So Ripe for Tyranny,” the former New Republic editor Andrew Sullivan said Trump was a “reality television asshole,” to which host Chis Matthews apologized to his audience for at the end of the segment.

Among the more intriguing results from Tuesday’s primary contests, the crowded race to fill the heavily-Democratic Eighth Congressional District in Maryland featured none other than the wife of Hardball host Chris Matthews whose candidacy included accusations that the couple leveraged their coziness with the D.C. and Hollywood elite for campaign donations. A MoveOn.org petition demanding that MSNBC suspend "Hardball" host Chris Matthews has garnered just under 10,000 signatures, even as the network has refused to address what Huffington Post called a "clear conflict of interest." The petition began in response to outrage over Matthews' "constant shilling for Hillary Clinton."
