(KPTV) - A 2-year-old child was injured in the leg by a falling bullet on Tuesday in Independence and police are looking for information, according to the Independence Police Department. At about 10:30 p.m., the toddler’s family was walking to their car after watching an Independence Day fireworks show, pulling the toddler in a wagon. A bride has been shot dead at her own wedding when a stray bullet from celebratory gunfire hit her in the head. Mahvash Leghaei, 24, got married at Firuzabad in Iran when a guest, who is believed to be a cousin of the groom, fired his unlicensed high-powered hunting rifle.

While Rep. Armando "Mando" Martinez (D - Weslaco) and his family celebrated New Year's Eve, a stray bullet — apparently fired by a reveler welcoming 2017 — struck the state representative in the head. "It felt like a sledgehammer hit me over the head," said Martinez, who called KGBT News from the hospital. After a few moments, Martinez and his wife realized he'd been hit by the bullet. They rushed to Knapp Medical Center in Weslaco. Doctors later transferred him to Valley Baptist Medical Center in Harlingen, where surgeons removed the bullet.

A 10-year-old Arab girl was killed Monday by celebratory gunfire as PA Arabs departed for their pilgrimage to Mecca. Her death was initially blamed on the IDF by PA and UN officials.
