Is there a Veterinarian still awake? Please help! By mistake, I gave my kitty 1 ml of Betadine by mouth instead of an oral pain medication (Torbuterol elixir). I'm an idiot! Here we go. The race for the presidency really begins as the first state caucus/primary where the results actually count takes place today in Iowa. Only a few delegates are at stake, but Iowa and New Hampshire usually are critical regarding determination of the nominees because of the “bandwagon” effect. I have been quiet lately. Mostly due to being busy at work (at that is not so bad), have not been posting much on FR since the beginning of the year. Happy New Year to everyone. Vacation is now over and time to return to our regular activities (including the weekly kitty thread). While diminished in stature in recent years, the summer Olympics take place in Athens, Greece this year and our athletes have begun qualification and training. My big old cat, Cloyd, passed away today, after 19 years of life with me. He came to me as a kitten, with his “brother” Gidney. Grey toms. Gidney and Cloyd (named after the Moonmen in Rocky & Bullwinkle) had distinctly different personalities. Gidney was hyper; Cloyd laid back. Gidney was starved for affection, like a clinging girlfriend. Cloyd, from the beginning, was an irascible beast, accepting affection grudgingly, on his terms. I didn’t much care for Gidney. Two freepers in the Houston area are going to have a little “cat fight” this week. One is a season ticket holder and devoted Houston Texans fan. The other (me) is a born and raised fan of the New England Patriots. These two teams will face each other on the gridiron in Houston this coming Sunday. In appreciation of this anticipated football match, we have started a little football trash talk thread. A friend of mine went to early vote and he lives in a precinct where demo”cats” seem to be in control of the electoral process. This cat served as precinct judge. Good Morning Kitty Freepers. Rise and Shine for another Monday Most of us had one extra hour sleep this weekend, so no excuse for being sluggish out of bed.
