Foreign refugees are continuing to flee the U.S. to Canada through the open, U.S.-Canadian Border. In a report by NBC News, foreign refugees are passing through the U.S. to Canada, specifically a small border town of less than 700 people known as Emerson. The vast majority of the refugees are of Somali descent who were originally placed in the U.S. Other refugees passing through the northern border are from Nigeria, Eritrea, and Djibouti. According to NBC, since January, more than 300 foreign refugees have crossed the U.S. border into Emerson.

Nearly half of Canadians want to deport people who are illegally crossing into Canada from the United States, an opinion polls shows. A similar number also disapprove of how Prime Minister Justin Trudeau is handling the influx, according to the Reuters/Ipsos opinion poll released on Monday. About 41 per cent of those polled said the border crossers could make Canada 'less safe', underlining the potential political risk for Trudeau's Liberal government. The increasing flow of hundreds of asylum-seekers of African and Middle Eastern origin from the United States in recent months has become a contentious issue in Canada.

The families are fleeing through the town of Champlain which shares a border with Quebec. They make their crossing on Roxham Road which leads them directly towards the village of Hemmingford and in to the path of Royal Canadian Mounted Police officers who take them to immigration offices where they can apply for asylum. Since Donald Trump tried to implement a controversial travel ban stopping citizens from Muslim majority countries from entering the US, foot traffic on the road has increased....

Canadians who have difficulty accessing the healthcare system, finding an affordable housing or who are living in or close to poverty do not matter to this government. They simply are not a priority To begin with, the use of “Canadians” in this article is not restricted to “old stock;” people who are born in this country. It includes immigrants who are now citizens of Canada and legal permanent residents of Canada. Justin Trudeau and the Liberals have been in power a couple of days short of a month. In this short time period, Trudeau and his Liberal Party have shown...
