Herman Cain has gotten the protection of Secret Service agents, apparently effective today, sources told POLITICO earlier today. A Cain spokesman didn't respond to repeated requests for comment. But ABC News has also apparently confirmed that Cain is getting federal protection. Continue Reading It's unusual for candidates to get such protection prior to receiving the nomination, unless there is a credible threat of some kind. UPDATE: “We are protecting Herman Cain,” Secret Service spokesman Ed Donovan said Thursday night. He said the decision was made by Homeland Security “Secretary Napolitano, at the request of the Cain campaign and in consultation...

In head-to-head matchups, Romney leads Obama among registered voters in swing states by a single percentage point The swing states just aren't swinging President Obama's way. Republican presidential hopefuls Mitt Romney, Rick Perry and Herman Cain are either winning or are neck to neck with Obama in the states deemed the most critical to winning the 2012 presidential election, a USA Today/Gallup poll released Friday found. In head-to-head matchups, Romney leads Obama among registered voters in swing states by a single percentage point, 47% to 46%. But the commander in chief is ahead against Perry in those states by a...

Mitt Romney remains the unquestioned frontrunner in New Hampshire, according to a pair of recent polls, but Atlanta businessman Herman Cain appears to be gaining ground as his top challenger. Mr. Romney, a part-time New Hampshire resident and the former governor of neighboring Massachusetts, retains a commanding perch as the favorite candidate of many Granite State Republicans, with support from 38% of likely primary voters, according to a poll conducted earlier this month by Harvard University and St. Anselm College. Mr. Cain finished second, with 20%, a finding in line with national polls that show his candidacy gaining steam. A...

Both President Obama and Republican presidential candidate Herman Cain went to graduate school. Obama got a degree at Harvard Law School. Cain did his graduate work at Purdue and Burger King University. That doesn’t tell you all you need to know about the difference between Obama and Cain, but it explains a lot. Obama and Cain are African Americans, but there the likeness ends. Obama is a liberal, Cain a conservative. Their parents, their upbringing, their education, their careers, the lessons they learned from life—these are as dissimilar as where they’ve wound up, Obama in the White House and Cain...

Three September debates have shaken-up the race for the Republican presidential nomination. Herman Cain has jumped into the top tier. Rick Perry’s stumbled. Mitt Romneys holding steady. And Michele Bachmann is hitting bottom. That’s according to a Fox News poll released Wednesday. The new poll found Cain’s support has nearly tripled among GOP primary voters to 17 percent. That’s up from 6 percent before this month’s debates, and puts him in what is essentially a three-way tie with Perry and Romney.

Coming off a poorly received debate performance, Texas Gov.Rick Perry is now trying to capitalize off the uneasiness of voters with Romney in two newly-released attack ads aimed at Romney, his chief competitor for the Republican nomination for President in 2012.---------------------------I think Perry focusing on Romney is a mistake. Both men at 17/18% in latest Zogby and Cain is well ahead. Dean and Gephardt attacked each other out of front runner status in 04 and lost IA to Kerry.

If the recent Zogby poll is any indication that Herman Cain may be the Republican finalist for presidency of the United States, he may have to thank Barack Obama for proving that a person with black ancestors can reach the pinnacle of political success.

(Video length 5:39) I don’t know one Muslim who will denounce Sharia Law, and then say they can support the Constitution of the United States of America. So my assumption based on what I know about their belief system is that they are not going to give up Sharia Law. Anybody that takes the oath of office in a Herman Cain administration will put their hand on the Bible, not the Koran!
