Ideology is powerful, capable of masking unpleasant facts. Whether we recognize it or not, we are all slaves to ideology. Economists are no different in that regard than other people. They hold preconceived ideas which affect the interpretation of data and facts. In the extreme, ideology is capable of blocking the recognition of contradictory information, effectively blinding a person to valuable evidence. Keynesian economists believe, regardless of logic and data, that economies can be managed from the top down. In their world, economies are little different than machines. Change some inputs here, speed them up over there, add some lubrication,...

Look, the bottom line is the left wants to limit or take away your constitutional right to “keep and bear arms”. If you don’t get involved we may be the last generation to have enjoyed this right deemed critical to a free society by our founders. This is a plea to all to get involved and start supporting your sate gun rights organization.

Today, I’m going to use economics to dissect “The Fairy’s Mistake” by Gail Carson Levine: 87 short pages that can be read in an hour. Levine writes charming fairy tales. “Ella Enchanted”, probably her most famous, is about how the use of power leads to unintended consequences, and why liberty is to be desired above all else but requires hard work and bravery to attain. (That’s the book. I haven’t seen the movie and can’t vouch for it.) “The Fairy’s Mistake” is also about unintended consequences. In the classic fairy tale, the naturally good, sweet young maiden freely provides some...

The other side of the Obama care issue, and why the costs are not a surprise, but a planned approach. The following conclusion is my (Adolph Oliver-Nipple’s) opinion only. You are free to disagree and jump to your own. A new report by the nonpartisan Congressional Budget Office states that by 2016, Obamacare will result in 4 million fewer individuals getting health insurance coverage from their employers. Remember the pledge Obama repeated over and over,” everyone that wants to keep their insurance can”, however the devil is in the details, and the truth is that the Affordable Health Care Act...

The liberal Democrats are awesome at this, truly awesome. But Republicans fall for it every time. At some point the liberals opened the liberal bible, Saul Alinsky’s rules for radicals, and prayed to their God of manipulation. Their God delivered to them a terrible weapon. This weapon is a technique that works every time. Without fail Republicans will get caught in the trap. Now I am sure you think I am going down the “You’re a Racist” technique. That is an effective technique, where they have convinced many people that if you are Caucasian and not a liberal, then by...
