Your bias is showing......you and a few others here are the reason I no longer share this site with ‘progressive’ acquaintances. They read some comments here and realize, justly or not, this forum is poison. This sites loss, for you see they, along with myself, are white collar professionals with a broad potential audience base.....and dollars. Many are of that oh so desirable minority subset. So keep insinuating that black kids are potential ‘pit bull’ killers ala thug Martin. That Muslim babies are similar to ‘pit bull’ puppies in killer nature. Minorities may change up from being Dims, but they won’t join the so-called inclusive, conservative Republican party which many here claim allegiance towards. In some twisted philosophical logic it might be a valid point, but to insinuate that T Martin is representative of the future of 5th grade black kids IS one of ignorance. The posting of pictures of black kids to temper the hysteria of racial stereo-typing from the actions of a black thug is NOT to provoke thug sympathy, but to hopefully prevent that stereo-typing of the innocent. You may have your feelings about ‘pit bulls’ but to compare their supposed killer nature to black kids is one of ignorance. The original statement wasn’t regarding solely pictures of a young Martin but of young blacks in general.

As one who has worked with Muslims, have family that believe, NOT ONE of them are jihadists nor believe in the concept. In fact all belong to one of the persecuted branches of the religion. I myself don’t believe in the religion but am not ignorant enough to think that all Muslims are ‘pit bull’ killers by nature. Most of the murderers (90+%) I dealt with were raised ‘Christian’ and identified as such.

As one who has interacted with both young black kids AND 18+ year old murdering thugs, hundreds of them, your statement is one of ignorance. As one who has also owned a so-called pit bull, a Staffordshire Terrier, it was one of the best animals I’ve been associated with....and we hung out with many of the breed without incident. I’ve dealt with ‘bad’ dogs, including ‘pits’, and 98% of the time it was the OWNER who was the source of that animal’s behavior. Not all ‘pit bulls’ are killers just as not all ‘5th grade cherubs’ become murdering thugs. Any death is tragic, whether it be by a street thug, an animal, vehicle accidents, or even ‘well meaning’ government agents.....

According to the US governments Budget/Accounting numbers, in 2015 the Federal government spent 1.14 trillion for healthcare, excluding the VA. Healthcare spending at the Federal level has been growing at an average annual rate of between 8-9%. for at least the last 25 years. Medicare/Medicaid will break the Federal budget within the next 6-7 years given it’s present trajectory. EVERY so-called healthcare plan presented has been nothing more than a payment plan with NOTHING about controlling healthcare costs. Even with the supposed cost controls within Medicare/Medicaid those programs are increasing in cost every year. Unless true market principles are injected within the medical industry, the cost of healthcare will continue to increase. If it goes towards ‘socialized medicine’ then expect limitations on what you will receive.....more so than what is experienced now.

College loans should be based on ‘degree marketable worth’. For instance, a humanities degree would be worth a loan of no more than 20% of that degrees charged cost. A degree in the sciences/math would be worth a loan of 80-100% of costs. At present, colleges/universities are in a win/win situation as they are paid ‘upfront’ whether one achieves their degree or not. Place more burden on said institutions and their interest on your success after graduation should be heightened along with a more ‘competitive cost situation’ for their degrees. As mentioned before, institutions of higher learning should be required to present a cost/benefit ratio analysis to ALL perspective students for their chosen field of study.

If it’s to relieve the ‘problem’ along the Santa Anna River trail.......not much will be spent on American citizens let alone taxpayers. A goodly % of those river trail homeless are illegals. I used to cycle that trail and would on occasion run into one of my ‘former clients’ from my work days at CA’s Department of Corrections. They confirmed that a large number of those homeless were indeed illegals. As for spending that sum of money to built new facilities, why didn’t the county ask the state for use of one of the 3 EMPTY SoCal facilities that were formerly Youth Authority Correctional Centers? Heman G Stark in Chino, Fred Nelles in Whittier, and Southern Reception Center in Norwalk. They could house thousands of individuals. All were and could be so equipped again, with medical/dental/education rooms/gyms/cafeterias/so on and so forth. The individuals living there could actually WORK to keep the facilities viable. Maintenance, food prep, just to name a few tasks.

Tragic. Most likely an illegal and/or ‘banger, although he didn’t appear to have any ink. One question though, having dealt with law enforcement for 25 years and having a sibling who is an active 25 year LEO, my sibling’s first question is ‘Why were the officers standing in front of the door of a fleeing, barricaded suspect?’ if the preliminary reports are correct. He has noticed a disturbing decline in adequate training among officers resulting in safety issues for both officers and the public.

So, is Sessions, like Berkeley, able to pick and choose which Federal laws to uphold?? In this instance this is not a Sessions problem but a Congressional one........

Might be time to utilize the IRS re:audits on ANY CA employer suspected of employing illegals......and I HATE the IRS.
