the decision to close the church resulted from falling attendance, membership and financing problems.
God works in mysterious ways...doesn't He?
Mantor said statistics he's seen from United Methodist Church headquarters show a "downward spiral" of membership and donations across the whole UM church for the past 30 years
hmm...seems to me that's about how long the "liberals/progressives" have been holding office so to speak within the denomination...thus we see Father's hand at work. The people need to wake up.
an ordained pastor stood up during Annual Conference and said that no one knows when life begins, but we have women right next to us who need our support in their choice to end an unwanted pregnancy
I wonder...sounds like this pastor is on the "progressive" side as opposed to the "conservative" side of Methodism. Might this pastor also be one of the eighty or so who are trying to rewrite the Book of Discipline in regards to the UMC's stance on homosexuality and same sex marriage?
Did you go to a different church or another denomination?
Id be curious to see how these pastors would respond if theyre told they have to perform gay marriages.
Would they be as Judge Gilbert Breedlove, who is also an ordained minister? Judge Breedlove resigned his post when it became mandated in North Carolina to perform same sex marriages? One has to wonder...

A number of French individuals apologised for the current tension in relations -- usually with a classical Gallic shrug. Politicians, what can one do?
Remove them from office, for one.
They say it's a misunderstanding... Whats to misunderstand? I, as an American, refuse to buy anything from France. Nor, will I visit there. And my decision can't be bought off.
