Cotroneo withdraws acceptance of Corpus Christi city attorney job (Update)
Roxann Pais Cotroneo, who was recently hired as Corpus Christis city attorney, has withdrawn her acceptance of employment offer in the aftermath of an investigation into anonymous allegations made against her.
(Also, ... unrelated findings in an internal affairs report led city officials to fire one of the legal departments ranking attorneys, according to documents released Monday.)
December 10, 2013 in Politics, Senate Races, Texas
Today I am officially withdrawing my endorsement of Linda Vega for US Senate. After talking more with Ms. Vega and her staff, I have decided that there are many topics that we are very far apart from in our beliefs and some are on major topics.
I wish Ms. Vega luck in the Senate race as well as the rest of the candidates that were able to file before the 9 December deadline.

CORPUS CHRISTI (Kiii News) - Another glass ceiling was shattered at City Hall Tuesday as City Council unanimously approved the city’s first ever female city attorney.
Roxanne Pais Cotroneo was selected by City Manager Ron Olson to replace Carlos Valdez, who resigned to run for a local judgeship. Over the last 25 years, Cotroneo has served as an assistant city attorney in Dallas, a special U.S. attorney and the city attorney in Harlingen.
“I have an understanding of the community’s perspective because I have been born and raised and visited the area ever since I was born and raised here, and I understand that the community’s voice is most important,” Cotroneo said.
