BATESBURG-LEESVILLE, SC (WIS) - Lexington County School District Three is investigating after a first-grader complained about having to rub her teacher's feet. A district spokesperson said the district has launched a full investigation, appropriate action has been taken and the situation has been rectified. But that's not nearly enough for some parents. "She admitted to the children rubbing her feet," said Brenda Norris. "Just the thought of it... They immediately sent her home, but she's back there today." Norris is far from satisfied after her six-year-old granddaughter in first grade came home from Batesburg-Leesville Primary School last Wednesday to say...

However, as the protests have spread to other locations, demonstrators have added a number of other grievances like police brutality, global warming and the death penalty. According to the permit filed with Spartanburg police, the rally was called a "solidarity demonstration" as part of the "Occupy Wall Street" protest in New York City. The protest will...

Original c.1870 carte de visite showing a man who looks exactly like Nick Cage. Personally, I believe it's him and that he is some sort of walking undead / vampire, et cetera, who quickens / reinvents himself once every 75 years or so. 150 years from now, he might be a politician, the leader of a cult, or a talk show host. This is not a trick photo of any kind and has not been manipulated in Photoshop or any other graphics program. It's an original photo of a man who lived in Bristol, TN sometime around the Civil War.

The moment was captured at the Odessa Zoo, Ukraine, and stopped visitors in their tracks as they passed by the enclosure. As the baby deer rested in the shade during a warm summers day the domestic zoo cat approached. After a quick hello both decided a bit of sleep was in order and the ginger moggy nestled peacefully into the side of the deer. Photographer Vitaly Ktach snapped the special moments and said everyone was watching on in amazement. 'The affectionate behaviour of the cat towards the young deer had myself and other visitors watching in disbelief,' explained Ktach. 'The...

It’s a monkey miracle — Bongo has been found! An Upper East Side couple grieving over the loss of a stuffed toy monkey they’ve raised like a son the past decade went bananas with joy Saturday night after being reunited with their beloved Beanie Baby. "I never gave up hope — I prayed, mediated, and now he’s with us again," said Bonni Marcus, 47, who along with boyfriend Jack Zinzi, 58, were devastated after losing Bongo on their way to a restaurant in Park Slope, Brooklyn, on August 1. The 8-inch-tall doll was found Tuesday by Luis Barreto, 61, an...

The Duchess of Cambridge brought smiles of joy to the face of a little girl with cancer by granting her wish to meet a "princess". Six-year-old Diamond Marshall, who has a large tumour in her abdomen, flew into Kate's arms when the pair met in Calgary. The Duchess had touched down at the city's airport with the Duke and hugged the little girl who was with her father Lyall Marshall, 37, and stepmother Danielle, 32. The youngster turned to her parents to collect a bouquet of flowers and after presenting the blooms to Kate, embraced the royal again. Mrs Marshall...

Months ago I filed and paid $27 for a copy of my great-great grandfathers social security application as part of my genealogy research. He was born in PA in 1871 and died in NY in 1940. Today I received a letter from the SSA stating that they cannot send me a copy because they have no information that he is deceased! It goes on to thank me for my payment to cover the cost of searching the records and if I can send proof he is dead (lol) they can provide the record at no additional cost. I have 30...

Five days after the passenger ship the Titanic sank, the crew of the rescue ship Mackay-Bennett pulled the body of a fair-haired, roughly 2-year-old boy out of the Atlantic Ocean on April 21, 1912. Along with many other victims, his body went to a cemetery in Halifax, Nova Scotia, where the crew of the Mackay-Bennett had a headstone dedicated to the "unknown child" placed over his grave. When it sank, the Titanic took the lives of 1,497 of the 2,209 people aboard with it. Some bodies were recovered, but names remained elusive, while others are still missing. But researchers believe...
