There is currently a letter floating around the internet from United States Department of Agriculture addressed to all (SNAP) Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program state agency directors. The letter states in pretty plain terms the USDA is directing States to hold or delay transmission of State Electronic benefit transfer (EBT) until further notice.

Today when you awoke from your nights slumber and the sun rose as expected it might seem like any other ordinary day. But today is fundamentally different than yesterday. Overnight you lost some freedoms that have been ours for over 237 years. As of today the Federal government will require, for the first time in history that you purchase something designed by bureaucrats, passed by Democrats and enforced by law.

This is not the headline you see this weekend. More typical is “House Republicans pass deep cuts in food stamps” like the New York Times. It is not until deep in the article you realize the “deep” cuts of 40 Million are over 10 years. That’s for a program that will still spend $700 Billion with a “B” after the deep cuts. Two other provisions included with the trimming are to drug test recipients if they want our generosity and preventing lottery winners from receiving food stamps.

How many readers notice Obama’s bold new initiative called “Connect-Ed” announced earlier this month. You might have heard about it in the form of a proposed increase in the Universal Service fund the FCC imposes on all cell phone users, with the exception of the two and a half million Obama phones. If you didn’t hear or glossed over the details since everything Obama does is proclaimed bold by news organizations. Obama is proposing to connect 99% of students to broadband internet service by calling on the FCC to “modernize and leverage” its E-Rate program to support this vision.

I have been thinking of late about the coming Fourth of July holiday. (AKA: Independence Day) With the current state of the nation and our daily loss of freedoms once guaranteed I don’t really feel like celebrating something we no longer have. It feels like going to a wedding anniversary dinner knowing the couple both cheat. So what to do? Not go out, ignore the day, throw my hands up and just go with the flow? None of these seem to be acceptable options. What about some form of protest to show the country and our “leaders” I will not...

Need some freeper help and knowledge. My sister is moving to Costa Mesa CA from Cave Creek AZ. She and her family love Arizona but because of a job situation she must move to California. She is uptight about moving and I would like any freepers to let me know good things about the area, or any inside info to help calm her fears and give her something to look forward to. I know the taxes are too high, too many illegal’s, too many liberals so fill me in on good news.

Millions of voters tuned in last night to watch the second presidential debate. They were treated instead to a Vince McMahon style cage match. The opponents were caged on a stage with the referee for over ninety minutes. As viewers digest what they saw and more information is revealed the parallels are almost uncanny. In the World Wrestling Federation the outcome is decided beforehand by the people in power and agreed to by the media that covers the ”sport”. The differences are minor, the punches thrown were verbal instead of just plain fake and the predetermined loser had not agreed...

Last night I followed the advice of a troll that infiltrated a Long Island social website regarding the first debate. I turned the sound off, which according to this blogger would give almost x-ray vision in the hearts and minds of the debate participants.

While there appears to be nothing in common between the Muslim Brotherhood and the Tea Party both in their own way achieved the same objective. The Tea Party during the 2010 elections caused Obama to lose his complete control of the government. The Muslim Brotherhood in 2011 stopped Obama and Hillary’s State Department from complete control of Egypt’s government.

The new ruler in Egypt is beginning to sound like a welfare queen who complains about lazy workers for her check being one day late. Mohamed Morsi showing his gratitude to America made the following statement to the New York Times. “Successive American administrations essentially purchase with taxpayer money the dislike if not the hatred of the peoples of the region”. Scant thanks from a man that went from riding donkeys to school to receiving a PHD and an assistant professorship the same year from California State University. Having trouble finding gainful employment? You just might be looking in the wrong field. If you are looking for employment in the passé field of construction, petroleum, automotive or even thinking of opening up your own business in this economy you know the deck is stacked against you. Time has passed you by to get a golden ticket from Harvard and you did not have the foresight to donate big enough to Obama’s campaign to cash in on green jobs, so what do you do?

I saw an article a little while ago that I believe said the state of Maine had more people on the dole than there were taxpayers. I have been trying to figure out how many of the 19,378,102 persons living in New York are pulling the cart verse riding. I have tried all sorts of searches and all sorts of sites but I can’t seem to get the numbers for my state (New York). I am sure these numbers were figured on the last census and I have searched the census site and can’t seem to get up to date...

I went to the local CVS pharmacy and after having to negotiate around someone parking in the fire zone (make-up emergency?) While I was waiting in line some scruffy guy was buying one candy bar with an EBT card and wanted the change after using twenty dollars in benefits from the card. The girl checked if this was OK from another cashier and they said it was. After I made my purchase I was in time to see the scruffy guy jump into the illegally parked car and head to the supermarket with I guess eighteen dollars to buy beer...

I would like to enlist the knowledge of my fellow freepers. My local rag the Journal News who doesn’t even allow excerpts to be posted has just changed their comments section to only allow Facebook postings. They give some lame excuse about some people are upset at the postings and it is not fair it is anonymous. Since you have to sign up with a valid e-mail address they are not really anonymous. Besides the attempt to stifle dissent through intimidation why would they do this? Is there something I am missing? Note this paper published the names and addresses...
