New to trap shooting, need scatter-gun advice I have been shooting all my life, but have never owned a shotgun before. I've always used pistols and rifles, other than a few blasts from a friend's 12 gauge double barrel. Then last week another friend invited me to a day of trap shooting sponsored by his church. He loaned me his semi-automatic 12 gauge Winchester, which was a dream to shoot. I didn't realize what a difference it made to shoot an automatic vs a double-barrel. The auto-load spring action made it far more pleasurable for me to shoot than the...

Subj: CME Impact on Oct. 24 Date: Mon, 24 Oct 2011 16:33:15 -0500 From: SpaceWeather.com Space Weather News for Oct. 24, 2011 CME IMPACT: A coronal mass ejection (CME) hit Earth's magnetic field on Oct. 24th around 1800 UT (2 pm EDT). The impact strongly compressed our planet's magnetosphere and may have exposed geosynchronous satellites to solar wind plasma. Mild to moderate geomagnetic storms are possible in the hours ahead as Earth's magnetic field continues to reverberate from the hit. Sky watchers in Scandinavia, Canada, and northern-tier US States should be alert for auroras, especially during the hours around local...

California Judicial Elections Judicial and school elections have no party affiliations in California, which can make it somewhat difficult to determine who's decent and who's a lousy Communist mole. In looking at my Tulare County sample ballot I see the following names up for judicial elections. Any opinions? Tani G. Cantil-Sakauye Ming W. Chin Carlos R. Moreno Brad R. Hill Jennifer Detjen Chuck Poochigian Bert Levy And these names for State Superintendent of Public Instruction. Larry Aceves Tom Torlakson And these names for Board of Education Member Trustee Area 2 Rod Burkett Deborah Lynn Holguin

I was enjoying watching drag racing... the NHRA Mopar Mile-High Nationals, qualifying rounds from Denver Colorado when driver John Force was on camera complaining about a list of the all time great drivers. Keep in mind that drag racing fans are much like country music fans. They tend to be all American conservatives. Just then, Force blurted out "You're like FOX News, Hannity and Beck. All lies. All crap." I had no idea that John Force was that stupid. And I'm not even talking about stupid because he apparently supports the Communist takeover of the USA, but because he would...
