Just finished reading a new biography of James Madison by Jay Cost. Highly recommended, as is his previous book, “The Price of Greatness” about the relationship between Madison and Hamilton.
Wrong. Fields punched the accelerator when he was two blocks away going down hill, and had a clear field between himself and the protestors. I was actually driving up the street perpendicular to 4th street where the crash occurred at the time.
I live here. I was there. What you claim here is untrue. It is true that the police and the politicians share a lot of responsibility for what happened that day, but Fields’ actions are indefensible.
Spend a few days in Charlottesville area. If you like history, this area is Disneyland. Monticello and James Madison’s Montpelier (not to be missed) are close by, as well as Fredericksburg, Chancellorsville, the Wilderness, Appomattox. 50 wineries within 25 miles, including Trump Winery. Spectacular scenery, one great restaurant after the other. Have fun!
