Cohen "He’s giving the GOP establishment the finger."

Part of why I like him.

How about this paragraph? What changed? RFK was assassinated. So is this one for the suggestion box? Is there another way to read this?

Surely, Trump’s number will fall. For a time back in 1968, Robert F. Kennedy polled well among the same people who also favored George C. Wallace, the belligerent racist. These voters were simply embracing what they thought were anti-establishment candidates, and since RFK was challenging President Lyndon Johnson for the Democratic nomination, he was, by definition, an insurgent. That soon changed.

I love this guy. He is what we need right now. Folks are tired of PC opression, shutting down speech. This goes deep, all the way through the millenial kids.

Most of them are mired in the BS, afraid to speak up. Especially the white males.

Now there is a connection between the Campus sex Police Pogrom, the PP scandal and the white house.

    http://dailycaller.com/2015/07/17/disgraced-planned-parenthood-official-works-for-white-house-staff-her-right-wing-hatred-exposed/

Nucatola is currently employed at Sexual Health Innovations, founded by former Obama White House staffer Jessica Ladd. Senior Obama administration officials sit on the board of the abortion activist group, including Praveen Basaviah of the President’s Advisory Council on HIV/AIDS and Kyle Bernstein of the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention. The IRS-approved 501(c)3 tech nonprofit is a major Obama administration contractor.

The group works on issues including “abortion access,” according to its website. But the group’s biggest project right now is Callisto, an online “third-party sexual assault reporting system” for girls on college campuses. The property in development counts Google as its investor.

Count me in too. I like him.

He is far from stupid. Hard nosed character. No lightweight. Quick witted.

And Great for what looks to be a one liner, twitter driven campaign.

Almost every aspect of him is an antidote to Hillary. New and different vs, er, Hillary. Charisma vs Pants Suit. Her mechanical, strained delivery and dirty political cash machine vs quick witted responses, and I am richer than God, put away your wallet. This is about issues.

Issues that she famously refuses to discuss. Along with you know, actually answering questions.

Trump does not lose his cool, Hillary is definitively uncool, especially when she gets screechy. He is not a pol, not the corrupted business as usual that Hillary represents.

Over the last couple of days he comfortably and casually handled aggressive attitudes at CNN and Univision. An important skill.

The general mediots fear him, and will be out to get him. They tried to take him out early with name calling. "Not serious, clown car, dumb, a joke, novelty act" etc. He weathered it easily.

Don't know about his, or anyone's chances. But it looks wide open.

He will shake things up. I want that. So for now, I am in. Later folks.

“Should not have race carded his main woman.”

Affirmative. We know the bad feelings go back to that. Leftists don't see it. Mentioned it at reddit a few times, got relentlessly voted down. "Wrong".
This year's ominous "Obama is an amateur" comment from the book, another not subtle hint.

I would bet that Obama did not see it coming. Those around him? Who knows, perhaps he wouldn't listen. Part of what makes him incompetent.
Yet Bill remained the good soldier through the convention. Took one for the team, then got no thanks.
Another familiar aspect of Mr Obama’s incompetence. Closest friends ride under the bus, take the blame. All for The One.

More rumbles last week or so... Clinton complains “the phone never rings”.

The last straw had to be leaving Hill
to take the heat for Libya.

But still, Bill is first a Democrat, and loyal to that. This is the only source of some surprise on my part. This is debatable, it may well simply be revenge. But I conclude that because he is willing to unload now, at Obama’s weakest, neediest moment, Bill must believe it is over. Big D internals must spell disaster. He knows Obama is going to lose.

The powerful image of the empty chair,
and a resounding “we own this country”.
    These two things will survive.
These messages got through the noise,
    into our common memory.

Much has been said about the style.
It was intentional. This is an expert.
    Not his first day.

The use of silence made us perk up and listen, and made us
a little uncomfortable. Silence is terrifying in these venues,
both for the speaker, and the audience. He used that.

The tension was relieved in laugh out loud remarks.
How often does that happen in pol speeches?
    Laughed out loud, we did.

Eastwood had to deal with the genuine “phoniness” issue as an actor. Had to convince the people he was not just acting, not playing a role.

He nailed that by not being slick and polished, by having the guts to let the silent moments hang a little too long, by not delivering lines in a practiced, rote manner.

It came across as an unrehearsed, unguarded, honest conversation between friends in a small room.

    The result?
Not one person has questioned his sincerity.
The unanimity on this is remarkable.
    He meant what he said.
Came to us as if from an old friend.

Finally,a third thing on the directed message.
Time to consider, just maybe, we have to let the guy go for not doing the job.
No hate, bigotry, ideology there, just plain common sense.

These thoughts resonate to real folks still on the fence, the only folks we need to speak to.
    ***********

I believe that this will become a standard for “great speech”, that the future common refrain will be to compare speeches to this, because of the effect it will have in the long run.

    “needs more Eastwood”

It was a great speech, a great moment.
