I didn’t say it was okay; do not put words in my mouth. The states bear their own guilt; to say “US” means it’s all fifty states.
BTW, bringing up slavery is a red herring, what with that not having been imposed on all states in the Union by an evil SCOTUS decision (Dred Scott v. Sandford did not do that, as many problems as it caused in and of itself); and it is arguable about that being states’ rights matter also.
Wallace? His ideas were in line with the left of today, particularly his environmentalism. He was a self-admitted social justice warrior (to use a modern term). Take him seriously at your own peril.
Darwin envisioned his theories in light of his coming to disbelieve in Christianity in particular.
Not to mention atheistic socialists always claiming to be “scientific”; evolution is positioned in their worldview specifically as a means to explain creation of life without God.
Scientists admit the existence of “Y-chromosome Adam” and “mitochondrial Eve”, as they call our ancestors, but deny that they were created.
O’Brien of 1984 is at once a monster and a fascinating creature, being distilled from real-life worshipers of human will and collectivism. He expounds his belief in power being collective by declaring individual human beings to be “only a cell” of the collective body, thus the only way to possess and wield real power is to have one’s will control the collective—and the only way to impose power is through suffering.
Ironically, Albany is on the west bank of the Hudson River. Never mind the former Miss Kathleen Courtney having been born in Buffalo. But she certainly acts like she comes from either Manhattan Island or Long Island . . .
You contradicted yourself. Why would a God that (by definition) possesses power to create bother with an evolutionary process that his creation is hoping would disprove His existence?
… The tidy tropes of our prehistory have collapsed under the weight of evidence: there is no single missing link that bridges apes and humankind, no drumbeat march of progress toward a predestined goal. Our story is complicated, messy and random. Yet it still can be accommodated under Darwin’s theory of evolution and in fact further validates that framework. This is not to say scientists have it all figured out. Many questions remain. …
“We reject the terms that our imperialist, colonialist, colonialist overlords have chosen for us,” a speaker was heard saying. “We name s*** for ourselves and we do it to honor our martyrs. From today on, this is Shahada Square.” …
Islam is imperialistic to the core. The oxymoronic doublethink idiocy is reaching a peak, for sure.
