  • VANITY

Just published my first ebook “The Combesville Dome 1888”. It is a story of a group of people who live in 2188. The Dome program is a recreational form where people can spend a weekend living their lives in a different era, completely cut off from the rest of the outside world. Not bad for an 82 year old, first time author, even if I do say so myself.

At 10 AM on Monday, January 5, 1959, I swore this oath on entering the United States Marine Corps: "I do solemnly swear that I will support and defend the Constitution of the United States against all enemies, foreign and domestic; that I will bear true faith and allegiance to the same; and that I will obey the orders of the President of the United States and the orders of the officers appointed over me, according to regulations and the Uniform Code of Military Justice. So help me God." That oath has no expiration date and is good for everything,...

I want to buy a home defense shotgun and I would appreciate FR input. I’ve always been more of a rifle and pistol person. What say y’all to a senior citizen buying a shotgun for the first time. Is Mossberg Shockmaster or Roadblocker a good choice.

Voted today in Delaware Presidential Primary for President Trump. I was shocked , shocked that Delaware joined the 20th century in voting protocol. Yes, the 20th century. Voter ID, sign in and a paper ballot backup. What will they think of next? Schools that teach instead of indoctrination?

  • Vanity: Memorial Day Heroes

Most of us know or knew a hero. However, most heroes will tell you that the real heroes are the ones that did not come back. My personal hero was a born warrior, Corporal Laurence (Larry) King April 20, 1940-September 28, 1965 KIA Quang Tin, Vietnam. Larry was my platoon leader in JROTC and he enlisted after high school for Army paratrooper training. When his enlistment was completed, he worked at home in Tampa, FL. However, he heard the call to serve and enlisted in the Marines. He served in H Company, 2nd Battalion, 4th Marines. During a firefight, he...
  • Native Born vs. Natural Born (vanity)

I visited the Constitution Center in Philadelphia on Wednesday. While on the tour, one of the staff members came up and asked me if I wanted to be President. I said that I was ineligible, since my mother was naturalized after I was born. He argued that since I was born here that I was born here that I was natural. We went back and forth; he not knowing the difference between native born and natural born and I refusing to back down. I plan to write the head and tell him that their staff needs to be a) better...
  • Conditions in Spain (vanity)

I just got back from 18 days in Spain. These are my personal observations mixed with comments from the locals. The driver who picked us up at the airport said the economy was bad and it was hard to get jobs, especially for the young people. Yet there was lots of construction around, both private and public. In Burgos, we witnesssed a college student march. They were protesting against, what else, cuts in education. They were calling for a general strike. Police were everywhere. As an aside, Burgos must be trying to repopulate Spain all by itself. Pregnant women and...
  • Denied right to vote (Vanity)

I went to vote in the Delaware primary today as a registered Republican. I was going to cast my vote for Governor Sarah Palin, as a write-in. After I entered the voting booth, I was told that write-ins are not permitted. I was not offered a provisional ballot, as they should have done. So I walked out without voting. I have already called the Department of Elections, who referred me to my State Rep. No call back yet. Will keep you updated.

<p>Fox News has a story on Old Joe Biden. (FoxNews can't be linked). Seems Old Joe is up to his old tricks - again! This time he has knowingly made a direct threat: "And don't any of you, by the way, any of you guys vote Republican," Biden said. "I'm not supposed to say, this isn't political. ...don't come to me if you do! You're on your own, Jack!"</p>

My wife and I have been to every April 15th TEA Party event. This year it was a monumental waste of time. The TEA Party movement in DE has been co-opted by the RINO establishment. It seems that now you have to be invited to a TEA Party protest. If you are not on one of their mailing lists. you don't get invited. Result - this year's attendance was 50-75 people vs. >500 in prior years. The message from the speakers was: a)we all have to accept higher taxes and b) we have to be nice to our opponents. The...

KR has a website www.rove.com where one can post comments. I answered his claim that Christine O'Donnell cost the GOP the Senate. My charge was that he was responsible. Surprisingly, he responded. Not surprising, he refuses to accept ANY responsibility. Here, for your amusement, or disgust is his response: Thanks for your email. Christine O’Donnell didn’t win because she didn’t address the issues. This is about the tough questions she needed to answer about her finances, background, record, statements and actions. All these issues have been in the public arena for months – covered by Delaware papers, radio and TV...

In Delaware, a group of RINOs have decided to proclaim their treason in a most public manner. Some of the more prominent names are: Tom Evans - former Congressman, who hasn't stopped whoring. He and Paula Parkinson were an item. Bob Carpenter - son of the former Phillies owner. Ralk about racist. Ask him the last time he hired a black person for anything more than cleaning. William "Bud" Roth III - Senator Bill Roth's son. Dad is spinning in his grave. Norm Veasey - former Chief Justice of the Delaware Supreme Court. A judge voting for the RAT -...

Just got back from the local Home Depot (the one that Joe biden has never set foot in). Bought my Christmas tree, among other things for the yard. Lady at the checkout noticed my USMC hat and jacket and gave me 10% off. Anybody else see this in their part of the country? Oh, and welcomed the Merry Christmas greeting. Semper fi

This letter appeared in today's Wilmington News Journal, followed by my response. Based on past experience, it may get published in August - or lost. Angry conservatives should accept new liberal reality June 23, 2009 According to a recent article “irate” conservatives of Sussex County are up in arms against the liberal tendencies of both the federal and Delaware’s state governments (“In face of liberal government, irate conservatives speak up,” June 11). They apparently have forgotten that they are now a small minority, a status that was amply confirmed by the elections in 2008. Indeed, the nation is now liberal...

On Tuesday, 05-26-09, Massachusetts State Representative Jeffrey Davis Perry (R-Sandwich) filed a Resolution before the House of Representatives to protect the Founding Fathers’ intent and the Constitutional protections of the 10th Amendment to the United States Constitution, which states: “The powers not delegated to the United States by the Constitution, nor prohibited by it to the States, are reserved to the States respectively, or to the people.”

I came across this website this morning. The status, sponsors and their e-mail addresses are available. In some cases, resolutions that did not pass are superseded by a 2nd resolution In Montana's case, a 2nd Amendment bill passed, where the 10th Amentment Resolution failed. Hopefully, this will be kept up to date. http://www.sovereignstates.net/state%20listing.htm

The Energy Department could spend its billions the old-school way. Or it could try the direct approach: 2 million new hybrid drivers per year. A calculator can be the plaything of the damned. Allow me to demonstrate. Of the 12 million barrels of oil we import daily, the 6 million barrels we get from OPEC members are the most geopolitically dubious. That oil from the Organization of the Petroleum Exporting Countries is refined into about 83 million gallons, or roughly one-fifth of our daily gas consumption of 390 million gallons, according to the Energy Information Administration.

Letter from Senator Tom Carper (D-DE) | 04/20/2009 | NTHockey
Is there really any use in talking to our elected representavives? I received the following today: April 20, 2009 Dear Mr. XXXXX: Thank you very much for contacting me to express your opposition to the nomination of Kansas Governor Kathleen Sebelius as the Secretary of Health and Human Services. I appreciate hearing your thoughts on this important matter. As the leader of our nation's health and wellness initiatives, the Secretary of Health and Human Services should be knowledgeable with respect to health policy, adept at managing a very large agency, and adept at finding common ground among groups whose views...
