I think it's getting close to time to tell the Saudis to cut the nonsense and either deal with their nutjobs religious or we will, starting with Mecca and Medina.

I wonder what response a legitimate threat to lose their holiest of holeys would do to quell this bullcrap?

Next time we hear one more word of jihad against the US or any of it's interest... Poof goes Mecca and medina!!

Why aren't we talking about who the REAL enemy is?

Sitting and doing nothing will surely be the end.. Doing the same thing over and over expecting different results is the definition of insanity...

Like I said, I don't have the answers... If not them, who?

    Are we just hopelessly screwed?

What are we going to have to do to get control of this insane spending and tax rates?

I'm tired of paying for all this useless crap, knowing that we are throwing our great country down the toilet..

Republicans and Democrats are both responsible for the size and complexity of our government and tax system.. Why must we leave these same people in office that caused this mess?

I don't have the answers, maybe Libertarian or Constitution party candidates will....

We have lost the lives of over 300 Americans. Approximately 2 U.S. troop deaths each day, 193 deaths since the war was declared over.

I heard an interesting statistic a week or so ago... A police officer in the United States dies every 3 days!!

We haven't had any combat here in a LONG time and that is still true...

The word Democracy means literally “by the people.” This is the basis of our government and society.

I thought we were a republic??!?!!!!?

The 300 workers represent .0214% of Wal-Mart's entire workforce.

Didn't the article say they were contractors employees?

Yes, they are attacking Wal-Mart simply due to it's success!!

We are still threatened. The enemy is far less cohesive now and it takes a foriegn policy geared to that threat to ferret out the perps and neutralize them. It costs money and takes a great effort to do this.

That's great, we need to ferret out terrorists, what we don't need are troops stationed in over 100 countries.. These troops have been there for many long years before 9/11..

Maybe, if we had the additional resources at our disposal, we could afford to get to the problem.

Rumsfelf said it in his latest report, we spend billions, they spend millions.. How long do you expect this current spending to last before were broke... Then we will surely be dead..

I would like to see the war on Terror continue, I just don't want to see it fail as the war on poverty, the War on drugs, welfare, Medicade, Social Security, etc. etc.

Maybe we should scale back where we can, kill the programs that have so obviously failed, thereby creating private sector jobs to meet the demand created when the programs are killed.. Maybe the private sector can manage it right, where the government can't..

All religions have holy places. Jersulam is holy to just about everybody.

Christianity has holy places true, but they are not important to the survival of the religion. I'm really not sure if the same can be said for Judaism.. I'm fairly certain we are not instructed to pray facing towards a city every day...

Barak offered them complete control of the Temple Mount, as well as virtually everything else they have ever asked for, including a capital in eastern Jerusalem and $30 billion for the refugee problem that the entire Arab world has helped foster and taken political advantage of. Arafat refused without even making a counter-offer, and immediately ordered more terrorist attacks.

I'm aware of this fact, it is tragic... Although I hadn't heard of the 30 Billion, wow that was a good deal!!

IMHO, since Israel is always accused of occupying Palestine anyway, I think they should truly occupy it. I mean, take control of the schools, media, the Police, everything... Treat it like you own it.. Treat them like they are a part of Israel. Maybe even give them voting districts so they could vote for a representative government.. Only after control and order has been maintained for a period of time.

I understand this is easier said than done... I wish I had the answers..

Sure. Every war ends that way.

Germany had a prepared peace proposal when we entered the war... That could have stopped the war in a stalemate..

I don't believe this...there is NO JUSTIFICATION at all, never, ever, ever, in any circumstance, no EXCUSE, REASON or JUSTIFICATION for what they did on 911 or what they, Jihadis, do on a regular basis in Sudan, Nigeria, Kashmir, "Palestine," etc, etc, etc!!!! Did you hear Mathatmir's speech about the evil Jews controling the world? Are we responsible for that too?

I think were actually fairly close in our thinking.. I sure as hell don't think they are justified. I think they have an excuse, and can clamor up enough public support that they are seen as hero's in their lands, and warriors of Islam.. Why? because we are there..

All I'm saying is this; if we are going to fight this war, let's fight it for what it is.. That means no rules, no worrying about the so called religion of peace.

From what I know about Islam, it biggest problem is that it is forever tied to religious places, specifically Mecca and the Temple Mount. If there god could not protect these places, it would be proved to be a false religion. So, why not take them out?? That's two bombs, and very few casualties... The religion is proven to be bogus...

I have an objection to our occupying foreign lands..We have troops in over 100 countries today, why? What is accomplished by this?

Do I still sound like an appeaser or do I sound like someone who wants us to take care of our problems, not others problems?

Sounds a bit here like you are blaming the actions of the USA in WWI for rise of Hitler and Stalin, but that couldn't be right now COULD it???

I think the war would have ended in a stalemate, the Chancelor of Germany would have stayed in power, and Hitler could not have come to power..

The Japanese aren't a problem because we beat them down in response to their atrocious acts and prevented them for causing even more death.

Right on, plus they attacked us... they deserved it..

We defeated the Japanese properly, were not defeating these new countries properly. < What the hell does he mean??

The Japanese had worshiped their leader as literally a god. In order for us to break their spirit, we forced him to go on TV/radio and renounce this fact, effectivly destroying their religion.

As long as were going to fight, let's fight to win.. We would have to destroy Islam to win this war.. Were always trying to be politically correct, and not upset these people... As long as this is our policy, it's a wasted effort..

If were not ready to fight the real war, why fight at all

Would you have spent any money to prevent 911? After all, Al-Queda hadn't ever attacked us before. How about taking out the Taliban, they weren't massing troops on the borders of New York for an attack.

They had attacked us before, lot's of times.. Kenya, Tanzania, USS Cole. The Taliban made it possible to run camps for the sole purpose of attacking us... They did have it coming!! I'm all for that war!!

You say our foriegn policy makes enemies. Does it make us any friends? What if we'd have told the Brits to F-off and deal with the Germans on their own because it would cost us money to get involved. Your tightfisted world view would cost us more in the long run. Isolationism will only get us killed.

Germany was a powerfull country, they had an evil dictator, responsible for countless atrocities. It was obvious that if that threat weren't taken care of there, it would soon be here... It was necessary at that time.. We were threatened!!

I simply don't see what this would help. Do you believe this good-faith effort would actually be rewarded by any of these countries? No. Other countries would simply point out (as do you) that we still have enough nukes to destroy everything. Decrease our nuclear arsenal to a single nuke and NK, Iran, et al would still use it as a reason they need their own. Or they could always point to Israel's nukes. It won't help anything.

I do think we need our nukes, I just think the cost of maintenance is very high, to maintain ALL of our nukes.. I don't care what other countries would point out, or if other countries destroyed there nukes.. We would still maintain enough to destroy anyone we needed too, therefore maintaining our deturrent.

I didnt' mean to compare the cold war with the current war, I was trying to illustrate that we didn't get attacked during that time.. Why? Our deturrent..

As far as Iran goes, again I think Israel could take care of this problem themselves. They are a very bright people, with a superior grasp on technology. They could develop anti-missle tech, or simply use their nucleur deturrent. Or if the threat gets to be too great, they could strike them..

Like the Soviet Union and NK, I also think Iran will eventually be freed by a revolution. Without our help..

We are hated and envied because we’re the best. It would happen even if we had no foreign policy.

Much of that hate would be directed at those that deserve it, the governments of countries like Saudi Arabia.

Those countries can conveniently blame our policy for all of their problems.. Our occupation is a constant reminder of our presence..

Basically, it’s a money thing with you, isn’t it?

You got it!! I hate the domestic programs you speak of, and I hate our foreign policy. It's all a waste of money..

If a country is a state sponser of terrorism, and they attack us, we should destroy it... If another country can't take care of itself, it's their problem.

Don't worry, militant Islam will get around to Switzerland someday soon too. They're a bunch of infidels also. The whole world is in peril, no matter what we do or don't do. Total world domination is the Islamists' goal.

Why aren't we fighting Islam then? We are trying to be politically correct.. that will get us killed.. If Islam is truly bent on world domination, we should irradicate Islam.. Let's take out Mecca, that will defeat Islam..

Today Christianity is under attack in this country, islam isn't..

Like I said, let's focus on our problems here...
