Okay, I'm normally a political and news poster..but am searching for some new BBC shows to addict myself to post Downton Abbey. Hoping Freepers can help. There was a thread about this a while back. After realizing that the Brits are light years better than us for turning out watchable, absorbing and well acted, directed and produced "who dunnits", and as I am on a political sabbatical for obvious reasons.. Here's my completed viewing list over the last three months: 1. Prime Suspect: Helen Mirren 2. Foley's War: all except the new ones that aren't out yet. 3. George Gently...Seasons...

SACRAMENTO, Calif. (AP) — GOP strategist Karl Rove said Saturday that rebuilding the Republican brand in California will be a tough task that will require them to diversify and create a strategy to spread their message to a wider audience. http://blogs.sacbee.com/capitolalertlatest/2013/03/karl-rove.html

This precious baby, suffering from a rare disease called EB, has captured the hearts of thousands, including me. My daughter, a neonatal nurse, first sent me the link. I contributed and now I check everyday, hoping beyond hope for the miracle that Baby Easton needs. Hardest part to imagine is that he is in constant pain.

For anyone who watched Hussein's disgusting remarks to his Bieberesque groupies in Vegas tonight...or is stunned by the admin's tepid and inappropriate response to the Libya and Egypt attacks. As usual, Michelle and Brigitte gave feisty, impassioned and accurate assessments of the Appeasement President and his apologies for America and refusal to call the terrorists out for who they are.

Hey Freepers: I have an assignment tonight and need your help. For my local Tea Party group, I have been asked to come up with a list of conservative actors(oxymoron but trying), directors and producers. We are going to launch a "no see" blacklist of all movies that feature libs..and add to it as time goes by and do some networking with other conservative groups to get the word out on these lefties. Our goal is to stop populating movies that feature anti American traitors. I've been attempting to do this for years personally but many others are just getting...

July 3, 2012 Romney Campaign Declaring Cease Fire on Health Care Posted by Staff In the aftermath of the Supreme Court health care ruling, the early conventional wisdom was that an unfavorable health care ruling at the court would be good for Republicans politically, even as it was a serious policy setback for conservatives. But that's not shaping up to be the case. Mitt Romney, after giving a brief statement decrying the decision, has been virtually silent on criticizing the health care law. He's been on vacation and his campaign has been giving off clear signals that it doesn't want...

Fox Ratings Down; Romney Scores Historic Negative Rating; Women Love Santorum March 29, 2012by Lisa Graas Mitt, don't count your chickens before they hatch. Sincerely, A Chicken Farmer. Several things are happening that indicate to me that some truth is coming out…albeit slowly. In my humble opinion, Fox News ratings are down 17% because viewers grow weary of their being so clearly biased in favor of Mitt Romney, but don’t look for them to see it that way. For the month, Fox News is down -17% in Total Viewers and down -27% in younger viewers for Total Day viewing vs....

Is Mitt Romney having trouble sealing the deal on the GOP nomination because of his campaign team? The Atlantic's Molly Ball gets a handful of Republican consultants to dish on the former business consultant's current staff of political consultants: "Romney deserves a lot more out of his staff," said one senior Republican operative who spoke on condition of anonymity. "They have mishandled him. It has been a clumsy campaign that lacks a message and has relied on a crutch of negative ad spending to make up for its weakness." Myopic, insular and overconfident, Team Romney has squandered the candidate's strengths...

Rick Santorum: Send Them A Message in Illinois – and Beyond By Richard A. Viguerie | 3/20/12 Rick Santorum’s campaign in Illinois – once again being outspent 10 to 1 by the Mitt Romney attack machine – is powered by a simple theme: Send Them A Message. Santorum’s rise as the conservative alternative to establishment moderate Mitt Romney isn’t an accident or the result of a slick advertising campaign. Rick is where he is because grassroots movement conservatives and Tea Party voters across America have had it with the establishment Republican Party, and its business-as-usual insiders of the Wall Street...

http://www.politico.com/news/stories/0312/73809.html Many Republican political professionals are worried that Mitt Romney’s public image is now defined by a word never associated with winning presidential campaigns — weakness — and are urging him to take dramatic steps to recast his reputation between now and the fall. The advice, echoed in interviews with numerous influential GOP figures, comes as Romney finds himself tormented by a contradiction: With each passing day of the primary season, he is coming closer and closer to being presidential nominee — and seemingly further and further away from being president. NO MORE LEADING FROM BEHIND FOR AMERICA. "I want to work with those in the Muslim world. But unlike President Obama, I will not bow before dictators, fanatics and thugs. I will not ignore the relationship between radical Islam and terrorism. I will not give in to those who oppose freedom. To do so would threaten the safety and security of the American people and turn a blind eye on those who are oppressed and struggling for freedom in other parts of the world." My passion for protecting and preserving freedom is a gift that comes to me from my...

Romney clarifies his position on Blunt amendment By PHILIP ELLIOTT | Associated Press – 10 hrs ago Email 6 WASHINGTON (AP) — Presidential candidate Mitt Romney said Wednesday he opposed Senate Republicans' effort that critics say would limit insurance coverage of birth control, then reversed himself quickly in a second interview saying he misunderstood the question. Romney told Ohio News Network during an interview that he opposed a measure by Sen. Roy Blunt, R-Mo., that was scheduled for a vote Thursday. "I'm not for the bill," Romney said before urging the interviewer to move on. Romney later said he didn't...
