Very beautiful! The stone work is awesome, I love it. So natural, much better than vinyl siding, which I would never put on my house. The entry way is so inviting. Very, very nice.

Offer accepted!! Woot. The place looks so nice. Barn, trails close, so perfect for what you need. All the critters will be happy there.

I remember your first name, but just can't remember the last. Isn't that awful!

How Wonderful for you two!! Congrats! I can't see the pictures, but I bet it is awesome and a dream come true.

I did see that you were selling your "storm home" on Baywind, but didn't see the thread about the property. My pc crashed and was down for a week and I got behind on everything.

Good luck on the inspection and the load. I will be pulling for you.

I do have a Facebook page. lol

Hey those icicles look like the front of my house! lol Sure does look pretty. The forest can be beautiful in the winter.

It was 9 this morning here. But, that is typical for this area. How awful for the Southern States, especially Florida and the crops. Next month is the Strawberry Festival in Plant City, FL and hopefully, the crop was spared too much damage.

The horses have been let out everyday with blankets on. They just get too crazy when kept in. Even though they do not do much running, as there is about 10 inches of snow on the ground As long, as the wind is not blowing too much and not a real wet snow. We have had sunshine for the last two days and thats a real treat. I am going to get a round bale to put out for them.

We have a heat tape on our water hydrant in the barn, so far, so good. It would be such a pain to haul water.

Hello Frog and a very Happy New Year to you and yours!

Loved the fall pictures. I can't wait to get on and ride again.

Loved the setting for the house. Lots of trees and it looks like its going to be a beautiful home. Is that an attached garage to the left or a barn? How exciting for you.

How wonderful the neighbor is putting out hay and water for the Mustangs. Poor things, must be so hard on them in the winter.

There was a report, that 4 horses were found dead and 5 others, including a donkey and pony were in very poor shape. This was in Southeast Ohio. Just a few weeks ago, 9 more horses were rescued from a farm near here. What makes it so sad, is that so many people had called the Humane Society and nothing was done for so long.

I hope you and your family have a very Happy New Year!

It will be very exciting to see what Tuffy sires. Hoping for lots of spots!

We got about 6 inches of snow yesterday, but the sun is shining brightly now. That is a welcome in the winter. Usually, it is really dreary here. The high amount of cloudy days in this area, is one of the reasons the govt. built the big arsenal during WWII, not too far from here. It is defunct now and a haven for a large herd of deer. They do allow hunts there and I thought, what a great place it would be to ride.

My friend, Judy who has the Appaloosas, has not done much showing with them this year. She and her husband both are retired from GM and have lost a lot of benefits. That put a lot of burden on their finances. They have been trying to sell a few, but no luck so far.

Their trainer went to the World Show and said that the sale horses were selling at very low prices, even for champions. The last sale we went to, some horse didn't get a $50 bid!

That is awful about the cold spell and the animials dying. A few weeks ago, it was really cold with high winds. We had the horses out with blankets, but Seco's was not very heavy. He was shivering when we brought them in.

The snow came last night with a few inches. Tonight, we are suppose to get up to 6 inches more. I get supplied up and stay in most of the winter. Only going out to feed and to the store if I run out of stuff.

Did Janelle do any breeding with Tuffy this year? He sure is a beauty. How is the rest of your herd doing?

Oh how cute and what fun! Which horse is that?

Quite a bit of snow you have there. We had a few inches last week, but on Christmas day, it was 35 and rained, so it all melted.

Everything has been pretty quiet here. Too cold to do anything with the horses, except feed and clean stalls.

Hello Beaker, nice to hear from you. Sounds like you have had some exciting experiences with your travels.

Have you been doing any riding? It's cold and snowing here also. Not much, just a little dusting.

We have had rain for the last few days also. Today, the sun is shining and the temps are suppose to get to the high 50's low 60's.

The whole family is sick and I sure hope it doesn't get to me. Might wreck my social life lol

I go line dancing a few days a week. The local Senior center has classes that I attend, plus we go to a couple of places that have dancing in the evenings. I started going last January and have lost almost 30 lbs! I can even get on my horse now without a step. Good exercise. About 15 years ago when Country dancing was so popular, we used to go all the time. It took me awhile to get back into the groove again. It's sure is fun!

Just checked this thread. I normally don't unless something is posted to me. Did you know that you can add names by adding a ; after each one? That way you can post to more than one person.

Anyways, your house and barn are beautiful! I am so glad you are happy and content in the South. Did you come to your cabin for the summer? We didn't have much of one did we?

The pup is cute and nice pool!

    Thanks guys.

what an odd collection of symptoms

Yes it certainly was. The vet said the leg stomping was due to her lack of circulation of blood. Sort of like pins and needles when the leg goes to sleep. The heart was just not pumping enough. She would rest, then try and get up, but was not strong enough.

The vet asked about her long, curly hair coat and if she was always like this. I said "Cushings" and he said correct. I suspected she had that before, but without the test, we didn't know for sure. The symptoms were there, drinking and peeing alot, but she never foundered, like alot do. The Cushings would explain why she had a running nose periodically. Her immune system was jeopardized. This last infection really weaken her heart.

The neighbor is coming this afternoon to bury her. My pasture is a pet cemetery. 2 horses, 2 dogs and 2 cats. Alison gathered up some pictures and other items, put them in a box and is going to put it in the grave.

Some sad news. We had to have Alison's pony Tubby put down yesterday. On Thursday, she had a lot of discharge coming from her nose and the eye. She only has the one eye and it was completely clouded over and she could not see at all. We gave her shots of penicillin and her temp was only elevated a slight bit.

Friday morning, she had broken out of her stall overnight and when she stood, she would stomp her back legs like she was trying to shake something off. She was not interested in food. We had her tied out on Saturday morning and she ate some grass, but it was really hard for her to walk. We called the vet and he said to continue the penicillin and to give her bute.

By Sunday morning she was down and could not get up. The vet came out and said that she had a heart murmur and the blood was not circulating in her legs. She did not have a fever, but her heart was very weak and her respirations were very rapid. There was not anything we could do for her.

Alison is heartbroken, but I am so glad she took her to the fair this year as a second project and had so much fun with her. She was a great pony and will be missed very much.

This was costume class with Tubby as a spider. They won funnest.

Alison also showed her in cart classes, winning a few ribbons.
