As many people thought the personal mandates contained in Obama Care which require all Americans to buy health insurance by 2014 was held unconstitutional under the Commerce Clause. But the court, through Chief Justice John Roberts, threw everyone back on their heels declaring the mandate constitutional anyway saying the fee is really a tax; and, since the federal government has the power to tax as it sees fit, the personal mandate is constitutional. Last week, President Obama hosted the first ever gay pride reception at the White House. Among the guests were two gay rights activists from Philadelphia who used the opportunity to “shoot the bird” at the portrait of former President Ronald Reagan. Pictures of Matthew “Matty” Hart, national director of public engagement at Solutions for Progress, and photographer Zoe Strauss making this obscene gesture are now circulating across the Internet.

On Friday, President Obama once again displayed his utter contempt for Congress and the rule of law by unilaterally announcing that his administration would no longer deport up to 800,000 illegal immigrants who arrived in this country at a young age.

More pro-Jindal-as-VP columns have been written, but this time from smart, but seriously misguided, Louisiana conservative columnists. Conservatives attending a recent regional conference in Chicago voiced their support in a straw poll for Florida US Senator Marco Rubio’s selection for the bottom-half of the 2012 GOP ticket, which is hardly surprising. Rubio is the closest thing the Republican Party has to a “rock star” politician. The young Cuban-American is for the GOP in 2012 what Barack Obama was to the Democratic Party after 2004.

The voters of Wisconsin have spoken. Gov. Scott Walker becomes the first governor in the history of our nation to survive a recall. Democrats and union leaders say it means little while Republicans hail Walker’s victory as a sign for things to come in November. Unfortunately, Americans who can find work have not seen a doubling of their pay to keep up with the rising costs. Millions of Americans have either stopped looking for work or are unemployed. No President in history has ever won re-election with an unemployment rate above 7.6%. The current unemployment rate is 8.1% with a new report due on Friday. With a horrible economy and a litany of broken promises, President Obama is facing a tough road toward re-election in November. The Republican Party must be in a pretty sorry condition these days for the hottest prospect for the vice presidential nomination is Louisiana Governor Bobby Jindal. According to the National Journal’s Hotline “Veepstakes,” Jindal is now ranked second. He is being pushed hard by influential conservative activists such as Morton Blackwell of the Leadership Institute and Grover Norquist of Americans for Tax Reform. Editorial writers such as syndicated columnist George Will, David Frum of CNN.com and Philip Klein of the Washington Examiner are singing Jindal’s praises and encouraging the presumptive GOP nominee to choose the Louisiana Governor as his running...

The so-called fringe group, the “birthers” have now been vindicated. It seems it is not so crazy that so many Americans believe that Barack Obama was born in Kenya, not Hawaii. Yesterday, it was revealed by Breitbart.com that the former literary agent for Barack Obama listed his birthplace as Kenya as far back as 1991. The notation was discovered in an informational booklet that promoted the authors associated with Acton and Dystel, an agency representing authors.

Clearly, our country faces terrorist threats, but young children, the elderly, Nobel Prize winners and mustached television talk show hosts should not be our focus. If the current TSA procedures are not changed very soon, innocent Americans may be killed, sacrificed at the altar of political correctness.

n 2008, the Obama campaign represented “Hope and Change” and inspired millions of voters to pull the lever for the unknown man from Illinois. At his campaign rallies, it was commonplace to see supporters fainting, overcome with raw emotion. Obama’s 2008 campaign was fueled by an amazing combination of energy and optimism rarely seen in American politics.

The President certainly enjoys the perks of his position in the White House. From extravagant vacations to approximately 100 rounds of golf, it has been a pretty enjoyable tenure for Mr. Obama. He has been able to meet celebrities, travel the world and play his favorite games. While our nation’s problems are not his primary concern, the President sure acts interested when giving speeches in battleground states. Most of these speeches are political and not official business, but the President continues to charge the travel expenses to the American people.

t's always exciting in New Orleans when it involves the New Orleans Saints, or so it seems. The Saints plan to seek “all legal recourse" regarding ESPN's Monday report that GM Mickey Loomis used an electronic devise to eavesdrop on opposing coaches from 2002 to 2004. Meanwhile, the Louisiana State Police are in the NFL New Orleans SaintsLoomisgate probe game along with the FBI.

Such a mindset was on display last night on the Fox News television show “Hannity.” A liberal guest, Bob Beckel, dropped the “F bomb.” He was caught off guard when the show returned from a commercial break. He had been in a heated argument with two conservative guests who joined him on the program. Beckel’s outburst is typical of the angry liberals we see so often in the media... The Beckel outburst is another chance for Americans to gain an insight into the mind of a hardcore liberal. As we can plainly see, it is not a pretty sight.

Has the media has been sensationalizing the Trayvon Martin-George Zimmerman case to the exclusion of other shootings and crimes occurring throughout America? At the NRA event, LaPierre called the news media “a national disgrace.”

If Zimmerman had been African American or Trayvon Martin was Hispanic or White, this would have never surfaced as a national story. On the other hand, if Zimmerman had made the news for doing something positive, such as saving a child from a burning building, he would have surely been labeled “Hispanic.” In this case “White” is used to stir the racial pot and create more tension. It is typical of a media that is biased, liberal and irresponsible.

In his latest column, George Will recommends that presumptive GOP nominee Mitt Romney choose Louisiana Governor Bobby Jindal or Congressman Paul Ryan (R-Wisconsin) as his running mate. He claims that Ryan and Jindal have “intellectual firepower, born of immersion in policy complexities, sufficient to refute Obama's meretricious claims and derelictions of duty." Obviously, Mr. Will has been in the Beltway for far too long. While Congressman Paul Ryan might not be a bad choice, Will has been reading too many Jindal press releases about the supposed reforms inLouisiana.

The death of Trayvon Martin has become the latest controversy to engulf the national media, civil rights leaders and mindless celebrities. The killing of an unarmed Martin by night watchman George Zimmerman created a frenzy of media coverage and has led to a string of inappropriate comments and behavior by public figures. The militant New Black Panther Party issued a $10,000 bounty on the head of George Zimmerman. They have called for his capture “dead or alive.” A “Kill Zimmerman” Twitter account has been created that is filled with hate and calls for violence.

Rick Santorum, has won a major victory in Louisiana, Saturday, in the Republican Presidential Primary beating his closest opponent by over 20% of the vote. With 75 percent of the precincts reporting, Santorum had 49 percent of the vote, Romney 26 percent and Gingrich 16 percent After the victory, his campaign issued this statement pushing the message that the Louisiana primary has solidified the GOP Presidential election to be a two-man race.

Louisiana is the pivot point in the GOP Presidential primary season with its elections being held Saturday. Throughout the week, the candidates have been making campaign and media appearances plus sending out press releases extolling their political strengths, attacking their opposition, and taking advantage of the state’s strong dislike of President Obama. With the vote only one day away, what’s happening in this media avalanche with the Romney, Gingrich, Santorum and Paul campaigns? Will this be Newt’s last shootout as some are predicting?
