Our town is very large in area, very small in population.

I would agree to ‘school choice’ if every parent agreed to provide transportation for their own child. In town or out.

Here in Maine we have about twenty new bills floating through the legislature regarding bills.

Each bill gets its own public hearing before a seelect committee. There has been a lot of citizen participation and a lot of tension among members of the bi-partisan committee.

It’s going to bee a longer summer for the legislature.

Here in Maine every bill goes to a specific committee. Each bill gets its own public hearing. Any citizen can submit written testimony and can speak for 3 minutes. Most bills average about 10 people testifying and last about 30 minutes.

This past week we have ‘gun bills’ every day.

On monday this committee had 5 bills in front of it. Hearing started at 10 AM. I was the last person to testify on the 5th bill at 8;28 PM.

We had a 15 year old testify here in Maine yesterday.

The 14 member committee was in awe when she spoke.

Many of us were watching a live feed from the over flow room.

When she and her dad came in after her statement, she got a standing ovation from about 40 patriots gathered.

“The purpose of the United States Senate is to debate and to vote and to let the people know where we stand.”
