I actually still partake in Nicorette on a regular basis — I have not smoked since 2004, but I enjoy the gum. I refer to it as my high-tech chewing tobacco...

With that said, once a piece goes in my mouth, it is NOT coming back out again until I’m done with it and then it goes into the little plastic package it came from in the first place.

    Check out my tagline.

I will vote — too many good men have died since 1770 too make sure I could that for me to dishonor it by sitting out.

But, I do not think voting for any members of the current ruling class honors their sacrifice, either, no matter how they self-label or how sweetly they can spew their lies.

I actually started looking past the meaningless labels and empty words nearly 15 years ago. What I saw was that what these people did, no matter what they called they called themselves and perhaps more significantly, what they refused to even discuss, was a lot more important to understanding the scam than the Kabuki Theater of our political processes.

You could learn a lot with some intense study of our tax codes, FRiend.

LOL Win what? The privilege of having people labeling themselves as republicans continue with more of the same? Great — the last time they got Congress and the White House, we got:

A few hundred Billion added to Medicare via prescription drug welfare,
    The PATRIOT Act
    The TSA

I’ll pass, if its all the same to you. There is not one person that has held power since Reagan that has not passed up on the chance to crap on the Constitution and impose the soft tyranny we see growing every day. Every single one of them will make sure that their corporate sponsors are taken care of and if that means dumping on the rest of us, oh well.

The next politician I lift a finger for is the one that says its time to burn it all down and start over.

Again, if you remain in denial about the fact that all of the voting in the country is EXACTLY what has produced where we are today, you will continue in an abuse relationship. Wake up!

OK. You are clearly in the camp that sees what is happening in this country in our lifetime (and before). With this observation, you somehow conclude that the solution is more elections, just with more of the proper brand of politi-ho getting sent to DC.

That is the same kind of thought process that alcoholics have, sir. 'Next time it will be different! It will be better...'

I own several. I even a couple of them that were illegal to purchase from 1994 through 2004.

Now maybe, you could explain to me why the dems did nothing about firearms but break wind from 2009 through 2015? That explanation will probably be about the same as the one for the GOP not doing a dammed thing about border security and illegal immigration from 2002 through 2006, with a majority in congress the white house and a “mandate”.

    Your precious elections are either:
    A) The root cause of the crap you hate in this nation or
    B) Utterly meaningless.

So, let me know in all caps which one it is, Bob.

Boo f________ hoo. If you do not want to be insulted while wearing a GD’ed burka or other shardar clothing, put on some jeans and nice top. At least dress like the rest of the people that live where you live, if that is your choice in places to reside. This is what the common Europeans are starting to understand — they are not dealing with people that want to become a part of their nation’s society, they are dealing with another culture that wants to replace the one that is already there.

As for the “this is not Islam” part, let me politely reply “bulls—t”, it is. The Spanish Inquisition was done by “only a few extremists” too, but is still thrown in the face of any Christ follower 400 years down the line and at the time, it certainly was part of Christianity. If Islam refuses to do for itself what Christians did in the 1600’s (have a reformation, which also included the rather messy elimination of the nut bars that would have an Inquisition), its separation from civilized society will happen one way or another.

The more violent muzzies in Europe count on looking like just ordinary fish in a school which numbers in the millions. Eventually, all of the fish will need to get removed from the ocean for the ocean to be safe. This is the element of how to defeat guerilla warfare that nobody, except on the fringes today, wants to address.

The muzzies would be well advised to watch their step at this point — they are dealing with the culture that raised genocide and ethnic cleansing to a modern industrial art form. The tribal instinct which was honed to the epitome of barbarism in Europe is not so far suppressed that it cannot ever re-emerge. Europe is about 30 years overdue for some major bloodletting at this point.

Yeah, actually in your comment at #69 you made a nice use of sarcasm in response to the article that described the woman arrested while jogging because she could not hear them to obey their lawful commands...

The question still stands — how much more control are you willing to give the authorities before you say “Enough”? Depending on what goes on with my career over the next few months, I may be there pretty soon.

A government which empowers an agency that can determine at their whim that you now persona non grata in a profession you have spent 25 years, and done that acknowledging that you did not cause anyone harm, is not a government I can obey and support any longer. I must say that I am fortunate though — I did not get shot when I was putting up little resistance I could to their actions...

OK, great use of sarcasm. Just so I’m clear, the time to actually resist in all ways, legal or otherwise, comes when they start marching people into the camps or shoveling them into the ovens?

Would it not be more prudent to resist with all means when the rulers have “only” gone so far as to:

Create a regulatory system when your privately owned business only exists at the sufferance of the nearest regulator?

Legally enforce you how much water can go through your commode with each flush or what kind of lights you can use in your home?

Make choosing to not serve a particular customer for your business is a hate crime?

Fining (oh excuse me, “taxing”) you for not purchasing a particular product or service?

Decides that another private citizen is entitled to property you own because a city likes what he plans to do with the land compared to what you are currently doing with it?

Charges a rancher exorbitant fees for the privilege of drinking water and grazing on land that the rancher owns?

And then kills cattle that the rancher owns while sending in dozens of armed people to surround a family home in an effort to collect the debt?

When blue line special after blue line special creates a law enforcement system that knows it will never be held accountable as long as it keeps the peons in line?

Really? Are you another person that that lives in a nation that has does all this and a lot more, and then reads my tagline and says to himself; “Yep! Way too soon.”

I do not completely disagree, but the courts have not helped at all (they are supposed to), and the people that got elected have kept pushing the ball further down the field into tyranny or at the very least, a system that our founders would declare to be tyranny. And do not forget about the amendment process, which has been good in some cases and horrible in others.

Without recognizing the holes in the document from 1789 and some of the ambiguities and fuzzy language that permitted things to get to where they are, any fix made (if any is indeed made) will be temporary.

And this is what people here do not get... How quickly too many have forgotten what Martin Niemoller said 70 years ago:

Because I was not a Socialist.

Then they came for the Trade Unionists, and I did not speak out—
Because I was not a Trade Unionist.

Then they came for the Jews, and I did not speak out—
Because I was not a Jew.

Then they came for me—and there was no one left to speak for me.”

I wonder how far it goes before the people in Washington (state) and Connecticut understand that they are on the same side as the African American community in this nation that have felt targeted for decades. Indeed, how much farther it needs to go before we all understand that we are on the same side...

No it will not be. Harbaugh will make a Teacher’s salary and benefit package as a State of Michigan employee, where he will instruct 90+ young men in PE classes — usually “Football Theory” or “Athletics Seminar”. (As a side note, the young men on the football team are actually attending “classes” when they practice and play, which is why the official practice time is limited to 22 hours per week.) Figure that the official public compensation is $200,000 tops.

The remaining money will be paid by Alumni and boosters. This is how coaching contracts are done at Public Schools and it fairly common knowledge.

The entire concept of “work” might change. As recently as 150 years ago, for 90% of us, work meant growing your own food and maintaining the land you grew it on and the animals that lived with you. People did not even dream of professions like “airline pilot”, “auto mechanic” or “software engineer”.

With automated farms and 3D printers, I suspect that a lot of people will be free to choose to follow their joy, whether that is creating books and art, research, athletic competition and coaching, entertainment, etc. There will also be a lot of people needed to keep nanos and robots working, supervising automated activities, pushing medical and science technology further, and designing the next “toy”. I’m sort of bummed that I will not be around to see it, unless the medical researchers step up their game a little quicker.

” We are reaching, or have reached the point, where it is literally impossible for any person not to break some law. The law of the land now makes every single person a criminal, usually multiple times per day.”

In some industries, you can be fined, prevented from participation in that industry, or prohibited for engaging in certain segment of that industry simply based upon the OPINION of a federal regulator, a State Regulator, or an industry association regulator. If they “don’t like it”, you get sanctioned under the most relevant rule they can find and if you want to fight it, that will cost more money than you could earn in years of that business. You still have the record of the investigation and potential sanction out there for all the world to see while the process drags on, eating away your livelihood and reputation.

When everything becomes forbidden, nothing will be actually illegal, but we will all be eligible for prison or personal ruin at the whim of an agency employee. What a wonderful world it is...

I was on Zimmerman’s side in the Martin case.
I was on neither side in the Brown case — I think Darren Wilson screwed up, but I also think Brown was an idiot that worked things just right to get himself killed. I’m glad Wilson will no longer be a police officer.

The money shot in this article is the comment about enforcing B-—it laws. There is far too much of that going around. If this continues, everything will be against the law, which effectively means that no behavior is forbidden, just actionable for sanction by our rulers.

Garner, well, the thing that troubles me about that is the use of the chokehold, which has been banned by several police departments around the country due to the potential for physical restraint to turn lethal. That is not even taking into account that most of our local, state, and federal agencies, whether they carry guns or not, are looking at us more and more like they are an occupying army and we are enemies that need to be pacified. That is the largest issue for me and as usual, not even being discussed.

An American argument for why Burkas are not such a bad idea in some cases. She is the proverbial girl from saving private ryan that fell out of the ugly tree, hitting every branch on the way down. "I wonder when Americans will learn that you cannot stop tyranny by civil means, period."

THEY ALL have to suck up to Wall Street and the other Fortune 500 upper management types. All of the politics we have seen through most of my lifetime is Kabuki Theater, nothing more.

The chattering class gets us all lubed up over race, class, religion, age, political philosophy - anything that can divide us and get us all arguing with each other while they pull the strings. Beware the Government-Corporate complex. What a lot of people on this forum don’t care to see is that the Tea Party and OWS people:

    1) Have more in with each other than they realize and
    2) They are protesting against two sides of the same coin.
