Wendy Williams’ son, Kevin Hunter Jr., offered more insight into his mother’s frontotemporal dementia diagnosis in an interview from the Lifetime documentary Where Is Wendy Williams?
“[Doctors] basically said that because she was drinking so much, it was starting to affect her headspace and her brain,” Kevin, 23, explained during the Sunday, February 25, episode of the two-part series. “So, I think they said it was alcohol-induced dementia.”
Alcohol-related dementia, according to Healthline, is a “type of cognitive impairment that occurs as a result of heavy alcohol consumption over a long period.” Over time, alcohol use can cause brain damage that affects a person’s ability to do daily tasks, such as cooking and managing their finances, per the website.
The symptoms of ARD and age-related dementia are similar, and include problems with memory, concentration and emotional control.

She never was that good.
I’ve go it too.
should be fine in a few hours...
There is something else going on with her...
Yet she still lived to 95? Well that’s good to hear because I use to be a hardcore alcoholic myself. Because of that I worry about dementia myself. I already feel a slight decline in multi-tasking and my memory isn’t what it once was but my friend who seldom ever drank and is the same age seems to forget his words much more often than I do. So there’s probably a lot of confounding factors involved.
I’m sorry to hear about your loss. It’s been five years since my own.
But “drinking has a direct causal link to dementia” doesn’t mean there’s a 1:1 or inevitable relationship: it’s probabalistic. Some people have survived high radiation doses with no apparent ill effects — still not recommended for the casual experimenter
BTW, I’ve done the VFR flying as well but never in an AC Cobra!
“So I don’t buy the perspective that drinking has a direct causal link to dementia.”
Affects different people differently. Apparently does cause dementia in susceptible souls. Serious binge drunkards who exhibit angry/violent/outrageous/daredevil behavior seem the type.
You’re so right. It was Wendy O. Williams.
Never heard of this person.....
Is Wendy Andy’s widower?
Maybe. Alcohol abuse induced dementia is a real thing.
I think the Cobra is faster than the 172! But I’ve never tried to find out!!!
That describes active alcoholism...
A state of permanent or near permanent intoxication.
Most alcoholics will begrudge a few hours a day to their employer, unless they get a job where its ok to drink (sales, where a little booze might help) or they have progressed to not giving a rats heinie about anything but being drunk.
Daily consumption of a liter of vodka for 35 years got one guy there that I knew personally. Most alcoholics are there consumption wise... Our brains aren’t built to handle hundreds of ML’s of ethanol daily. Wasn’t too much to do for him by the time I met him and lucky for him, his wife still cared about him and could take care of him.
It isn’t a MAJOR health issue, as most alcoholics either go from bad livers, diabetes, accidents, or suicide before they have rotted away enough of the brains to get wet brain. Substance abuse generally is a MAJOR health issue on our nation and not really being dealt with well.
We need to hang out sometime... lol
Alcohol has different effects on people. Wet brain is a well known condition in chronic alcoholics.
Don’t know who this is....I assume it’s not the Wendy Williams from the Plasmatics, since the articles don’t mention loud punk music and toplessness.
