As news organizations around the country proclaimed Cathy McMorris Rodgers a sure bet to be the next interior secretary and politicians in her Eastern Washington district quickly announced campaigns for her congressional seat, the person most in the dark was McMorris Rodgers herself. In her first extended remarks on the events of the last few weeks, the congresswoman said she never got a call from President-elect Donald Trump or his transition team saying she was going to be offered the Cabinet position before or after reports from unnamed sources said she was the likely pick. She also never got a...

According to reports, the officer fired on the dog after he allegedly lunged from the window of a parked vehicle. "To the Coeur...

I’ve made a few donations to Herman Cain’s campaign using the online donations page at hermancain.com and had no problems with it until last week. Now when you go to the donations page, the page loads fine, but none of the drop-down boxes function. This includes the drop-down boxes for: Contribution Type, State, Card Type and Expiration Date. Without being able to make those selections, donations cannot be submitted.

A Coeur d'Alene hunter says his hound dog was killed by a pack of wolves while hunting last weekend, and the Idaho Department of Fish and Game says these deaths appear to be a growing trend. The attack happened on Saturday in Shoshone County south of I-90 near Canary Creek. < snip > "He was laying down under a tree. He was just torn up, it was bad," recalls Cleveland's hunting buddy, Steve Johnson. "I got on the radio and said, 'the wolves got Jake,' As soon as I got off the radio wolves started howling around me." Johnson says...

“Instead of seeing if there’s a way of stimulating the economy, McCain-Lieberman would depress the economy. His plan calls for a new financial burden to be placed on people who are purchasing gasoline or for that matter natural gas to heat their homes or to cook in their homes. The energy information agency has said that his plan would cost America 300,000 jobs. In addition, people would pay, they estimate, approximately 50 cents per gallon more for gasoline and 20% more for their gas utility bill. That would depress the economy just at a time when we’re trying to stimulate...

BEGIN TRANSCRIPT RUSH: Now McCain. This is funny. This is from Jonathan Martin, our old buddy the blogger at The Politico. “Styrofoam coffee cup in hand, John McCain came back toward the press section of his charter jet to indulge questions and allow the photogs to get some shots. Asked what he would say to conservatives still suspicious about his candidacy, McCain interrupted the question. ‘I say a very large portion of it, the conservative base, voted for me yesterday — I thank you,’ McCain said... ‘I will continue to expand that base.’ McCain cited two reasons — one old...

SPOKANE -- The cross is coming off the official patch worn by Spokane Police Department chaplains after a federal lawsuit prompted changes inside the police chaplains office. The removal of the cross stems from a lawsuit filed against the city last year by a senior police volunteer who argued it was unconstitutional to have a cross on an official City of Spokane insignia. The federal lawsuit, filed by Ray Ideaus, said the patch was illegal and the department's requirement that chaplains adhere to the Judeo / Christian ethic was also unconstitutional because government cannot favor one religion over another. So...

Just a heads up. Michael Savage is having John O'Neill, Unfit to Command author, on his show at the top of the hour. That's approximately 5PM PST. Anyone who's listening and can post some running commentary would be most appreciated.
-
Whatever you usually think of him, tune into Savage live now! He's spending the show (again) on getting the swiftboat vets story out there. His guest will be, for the second time, the machine gunner who served with John Kerry on his boat. Steve Gardner, I believe is his name. Also, Savage is expressing his disappointment with Fox News, specifically O'Reilly, for spiking this story and essentially calling the veterans liars. Savage says it's because O'Reilly wants to get John Kerry on his show.
