This video segment was the top of the local Bay Area (CA) news a few hours ago, just re-run again. The gist of it: A group of college kids had a backyard party, leftists condemned this gathering and are snitching on those who attended.
  • Who does the Capitol Police Chief answer to?

    01/08/2021 3:27:25 PM PST · by KJC1 · 12 replies
I was wondering who is in the chain of command above the Capitol Police Chief. The answer is the Capitol Police Board. https://www.uscp.gov/the-department/oversight/capitol-police-board From the link above: The Capitol Police Board oversees and supports the United States Capitol Police in its mission, and helps to advance coordination between the Department and the Sergeant at Arms of the House of Representatives and the Sergeant at Arms and Doorkeeper of the Senate, in their law enforcement capacities, and the Congress. Consistent with this purpose, the Capitol Police Board establishes general goals and objectives covering its major functions and operations to improve the...

  • Next Oakland top cop must meet a lot of criteria

OAKLAND, Calif. - Being the Oakland police chief is hard enough as it is. But the job posting for the city's next top cop is not for the weak. "If they are scared off, they shouldn't apply," said civil rights attorney Jim Chanin with a chuckle. It's no laughing matter. Six months after Chief Anne Kirkpatrick was fired, the Oakland Police Commission has released its wish list for the ideal leader. Among the requirements, the next chief must be able to "embrace guardianship, rather than a warrior mindset," promote de-escalation and disengagement tactics and "eradicate the department’s role in racial...
  • Kamala Harris Was Not a ‘Progressive Prosecutor’ [From January 2019]

Time after time, when progressives urged her to embrace criminal justice reforms as a district attorney and then the state’s attorney general, Ms. Harris opposed them or stayed silent. Most troubling, Ms. Harris fought tooth and nail to uphold wrongful convictions that had been secured through official misconduct that included evidence tampering, false testimony and the suppression of crucial information by prosecutors. Consider her record as San Francisco’s district attorney from 2004 to 2011. Ms. Harris was criticized in 2010 for withholding information about a police laboratory technician who had been accused of “intentionally sabotaging” her work and stealing drugs...

SAN QUENTIN, Calif. - Night and day he gasped for air. He fainted twice. His bones ached. And sweat poured constantly off his virus-stricken body. So, he prayed. He prayed for his life. And all around him other men -- inmates at San Quentin State Prison -- did the same. “It was a real frightening mood. Everyone in there was scared. All you can hear was ‘I pray to God that I don't catch COVID. I don't wanna die.’” Kenneth Larkins is just one of more than 2,000 inmates at the Marin County prison who has tested positive for the...

An apparent noose was discovered this past weekend at Sonoma Raceway, according to Steve Page, the track’s president and general manager. In a statement, Page said: “On Saturday, a Sonoma Raceway staff member discovered a piece of twine tied in what appeared to be a noose hanging from a tree on raceway property. Our staff, on-site business tenants and local law enforcement have been contacted and asked to share any information they may have. The incident is under investigation by the Sonoma County Sheriff’s Department. Sonoma Raceway takes this incident very seriously and is dedicated to operating a facility that...

OAKLAND, Calif. - Two trustees at Oakland Unified School District are advocating to eliminate police from patrolling school campuses, saying these positions could be turned into "peace and culture keepers" and other less authoritative positions. The context of the resolution comes as many in the nation are questioning the role of police, after a white officer killed a black man, George Floyd, by sitting on his neck in Minneapolis over Memorial Day. Calls to "defund" and reform police departments have been repeated throughout the country. On Wednesday, Oakland Unified School board members Roseann Torres and Shanthi Gonzales will introduce a...

A San Leandro woman was arrested Friday night on suspicion of posting racist messages on homes in the Heron Bay neighborhood of that city. San Leandro police officers arrested Nancy Arechiga, 52, Friday night just after 7 p.m. while investigating complaints of racists notes left on the doors of at least five homes. The notes “contained various insensitive messages towards minorities,” according to a the San Leandro Police Department. “The handwritten notes suggested that people, not native to America, leave the country immediately. The messages were directed towards women and children as well,” police said.
  • How Do We Make China Pay?

    05/08/2020 10:22:32 PM PDT · by KJC1 · 48 replies
How do we make China pay for what they have done? Just my opinion, and would love to hear more ideas. Do not buy anything from China. Do not welcome anyone from China. Do not take shit from anyone who tries to shame you. Feel free to openly say F#CK China. I hope our government, under President Trump, is doing WAY more than this. Does anyone disagree that the Chinese (meaning agents of the Chinese government, not American citizens) should be grabbed and held under a boot until they admit what they did, and forced to show their hand for...

***** Feng shui can be used to decode the energy of a place but it shouldn't dictate where travelers should or shouldn't go, he says. "According to feng shui readings, destinations east of China, such as Taiwan, central Japan and the west coast of the United States, are overshadowed by a major star of illness this coming year. It means it is more prone to man-made and natural disasters. "But you won't be able to tell when it will strike. It shouldn't deter you from exploring places you want to go -- just pay extra attention when you're going to...
  • Loophole could allow double voting in California Primary Election

    02/24/2020 10:31:21 PM PST · by KJC1 · 16 replies

Contra Costa County - There is a loophole in the law that potentially allows California voters to cast two ballots and some local elections officials say that they are powerless to stop it. Hundreds of voters have attempted to vote more than once because the state’s automated system sends a new vote-by-mail ballot if personal information or party preference changes. The issue has gone largely unaddressed for nearly four years, opening the door to potential voter fraud. The California Secretary of State has ignored calls to fix the flaw, leaving the responsibility up to counties to police thousands of votes.

Sen. Elizabeth Warren (D-Mass.) told a voter that she “already has a dog” when the 2020 White House hopeful was asked about her choice to replace Vice President Mike Pence. The voter asked Warren at a Town Hall in Lebanon, N.H. on Sunday if she ever whispers to her dog Bailey, “Who is going to be my Mike Pence?” “I already have a dog,” Warren responded. The crowd cheered in response to the senator's deadpan joke.
  • Californians who register to vote would be required to cast ballots under new bill

SACRAMENTO — Following a series of sweeping expansions to expand access to voting in recent years, a California lawmaker is pushing to require voters to cast a ballot in future elections. The proposal, introduced in the state Assembly on Tuesday, would be unprecedented and probably challenged in court should it ultimately become law. It would place the burden for determining the civil penalty and the ultimate punishment on the secretary of state, California’s chief elections officer. “Democracy is not a spectator sport — it requires the active participation of all its citizens,” the bill’s author, Assemblyman Marc Levine (D-San Rafael),...

See video at link, starting at about 1:24:30. It is then about a 3 minute video until the end. After President Trump left the House floor last night, Nancy Pelosi banged her gavel stating both Houses were "dissolved." Shortly thereafter, she banged the gavel again calling the House to order, and then left the House floor. A man (not sure who, sorry) then took the podium and recognized Steny Hoyer who called for the SOTU speech to be entered into the record, and called to adjourn the session.
  • Judge Judy show: Alleged "Trump supporter" sued a hairdresser for a bad haircut

Not a joke. I somehow watched the Judge Judy show today and an older "gentleman" who claimed to be an attorney from San Antonio, TX sued a hairdresser for shaving off his hair instead of cutting it as he wished. He stated he paid $10 for the haircut. After the "verdict" he said he was a "Trump-Supporter" and the hairdresser was a "Trump-Hater" who shaved his head because he supported Trump. Did anyone else see this? It was ridiculous.

The world would be a better place if more women were in charge, former President Barack Obama says. Speaking at an event on Monday, Obama also said that many of the world's problems stem from "old people, usually old men, not getting out of the way." (snip) "If you look at the world and look at the problems, it's usually old people, usually old men, not getting out of the way," Obama said, according to a BBC report about the event. "They cling to power, they are insecure, they have outdated ideas and the energy and fresh vision and new...
