Has anyone heard any rumblings about a lock down in Houston? I just got a phone call from my sister who has a job affiliated with the Fed. They were given "travelling" papers, if you will, earlier this week just in case. Tonight they were told to keep that letter with them at all times. I've seen the letter. I know it sounds paranoid, but I was asked about a lock down from someone at work. It reminds me of this line: The Baroness: You're far away. Where are you? Captain von Trapp: In a world that's disappearing, I'm afraid.

Police in West Virginia have apprehended masked bandits who were drunkenly acting up in town -- but they weren't humans. Texas voting machines changing some straight-party selections HOUSTON, Texas (KTRK) -- Voters are reporting odd problems on both the Republican and Democratic side of straight-party voting in Texas. Mickey Blake was one of the voters in those early voting lines in Houston earlier this week. "I hit straight Democratic ticket," Blake said. She says she expected all Democrats to come up on her screen, especially Rep. Beto O'Rourke, but when she got to the last screen to review her choices, she noticed a problem.

Is it just me or is Weinstein a convenient media distraction? This guy has been at this game for decades. Everyone knew it. Actresses went along with it. According to WikiLeaks/Sony a Sony board member would have rather stepped down than present Weinstein with an award. Now everybody is a victim of the Jewish guy? I don't buy it for the scandal it is portrayed as. This has pushed the revision of the LV timeline off the news. It feels just as wrong as the shifting facts in Las Vegas.

The St. Louis Rams, desperate for a quarterback like seemingly half the NFL is these days, called Brett Favre this week, according to ESPN. The franchise wanted to see if Favre would unretire for the umpteenth time and give it one last final shot, after all the other one last final shots. Seriously. They called Brett Favre. Favre is 44 years old and currently working as a volunteer offensive coordinator and quarterback coach for the Oak Grove Warriors, a high school team in Mississippi. He spends his spare time jogging and mowing the lawn. He hasn’t played since 2010, when...

In the height of the national outrage over the shooting of Trayvon Martin, George Zimmerman hid out for over a month in nearby Lake Mary at the home of a federal law-enforcement agent — a former Seminole County Sheriff deputy who was pressured to quit after he was duped by a con artist and violated department policy. He was the friend who taught Zimmerman how to shoot, and whose wife presided over Zimmerman’s wedding. As lesser acquaintances granted television interview after television interview, Mark Osterman never showed his face even as he offered shelter to a friend in need who...

Serino is not being demoted, Morgenstern said, and his rate of pay is unaffected.

The case of Florida neighborhood watchman George Zimmerman and the unarmed teen he claims he shot in self-defense has dominated 24-hour cable news shows, drawn a public statement from President Barack Obama, and sparked protests around the country. Given this (now somewhat cooling) media frenzy, will it be possible for Zimmerman's legal team to seat 12 Sanford-area jurors who have not already formed their opinion about the case? Zimmerman's attorney Mark O'Mara seems to think not. After his client was charged in April, O'Mara said in a press conference that he doesn't think Zimmerman can get a fair trial, but...
