  • Why Doesn't Fox News Conduct Their Own Polls?

Can someone please explain to me why Fox News always seems to report/reference other liberal networks and papers’ polls? It’s always an ABC or CBS poll, or it’s a NYT or WAPO poll. Aren’t they a big enough outfit to conduct their OWN polls and report them? It comes across as they’re a surrogate for the other networks. Very strange (at least to me).
  • Happy Fifth of May!!!

With the Spanish version of the American national anthem still echoing through the valleys, I wanted to jump on this brand new multicultural, revisionist band-wagon by urging my fellow true Americans to wish everyone you see on 5/5 a Happy Fifth of May Day, not cinco-de-mayo! I plan on celebrating this 'holiday' by doing everything I can that's American, like eating a hotdog and some apple pie, watching baseball, drinking Budweiser, listening to country music, and waving and wearing the Stars-and-Stripes.

Just to drive home what transpired today, and to turn their own words back on them, 'Rats need to see this little quip over and over to undo the brainwashing they underwent after 2000. Perhaps some t-shirts and bumper-stickers will suffice.
  • And the Oscar goes to ... Hollywood! (Very convincing patriotic act, eh?)

I almost fell for it. In fact, for a short while, I did. Like most patriots who watched (or heard about) the Mike Moore rant during the Oscars, I felt good when Moore was booed and musically drowned off the stage on Sunday. Could it be that Hollywood - the cult, not the FReeper - had found its patriotic heart? Wasn't it tragically funny that someone of their ilk had crashed their big night to the point of souring the mood for a while? It was awesome! Moore had really trashed that place with his diatribe better than any "Support...
  • An Awesome Sight

I just looked out the window where I work and saw a very hopeful and patriotic sight. One end of a rainbow was directly behind an American flag that sits atop a small mountain. I wish I had had a camera.
  • Was a Plane Given a Fighter Escort This Evening?

Tonight, at around 5:40pm, AZ time, I saw what looked like a commercial airliner being escorted by two military fighter jets directly overhead. When I first spotted it, the airliner appeared to be up around cruising altitude heading west, with one fighter immediately off it's right wing tip, and the other fighter a little further back and further to the right (starboard for nav types). I watched for the next 10 minutes or so as all three planes maintained the same formation and gradually turned south, and eventually headed off toward the east. I haven't heard or seen anything in ...
  • Voter Registration Rolls Need Major Clean-Up.

After this last election, it was reported in numerous places that the voter registration rolls were not up-to-date. As further proof, some of us Arizona FReepers have been discussing personal situations where relatives are still on the rolls even though they've been long gone from AZ. I posted the following idea in the AZ section, and have decided that it might generate some action (or, at least, some debate) at the national level. My idea is simple: toss the existing registration rolls and require all voters to re-register. I don't believe there is any undue hardship imposed by this suggestion. It's ...

How's this for a temporary solution: FRname begins with A thru F: use FR from XX:00 to XX:15FRname begins with G thru L: use FR from XX:15 to XX:30FRname begins with M thru R: use FR from XX:30 to XX:45FRname begins with S thru Z: use FR from XX:45 to XX:00FRname begins with non-letter: since so few, use anytime.I know it may be torture for some to be off FR for 45 minutes, but we've got a problem, and we're not whiny liberals, right?
