You would think that the fair and compassionate Rats would give somebody equal time even if it's Charles Rangel to teach them how to cheat on their taxes at an early age in case they have a Lemonaid stand or something.
I used to live up in Bulverde when I played for Augie Meyers and I haven’t heard anything from up there yet, BUT, it’s early in the day and I’ll give everybody updates as I get them.
What you say makes sense and is probably true. I was just reporting what was being said this morning by the city officials who have been in direct talks with Toyota.
The whole point of this post was to point out what happens when you don't create a good environment for business. The business moves or goes out of business. Plain and simple.
I agree with you on that but they are already telling the folks here in San Antonio that a new phone number will be in place by tomorrow to call and set up your interview like they did when the plant opened. So, just like last time, the bulk of the hires are going to be from in and around San Antonio and I don’t think we are going to get a whole boat load of Cali’s coming this way, Thank Goodness!
I hate to see one single American lose their job, but this really ought to be a big "teaching moment" to the Rats and all of those who voted for change.
If you do everything you can to crush business, large and small, you will not create jobs. Period!
In fact, I wouldnt be surprised that we could see the San Antonio, TX plant expand even further and we could see the Corolla production start there by 2012.
That is already being talked about this morning on moving the Corolla production up in Canada down here.
The plant here can produce 160,000 trucks a year without running a second shift. With adding the Tacoma, they hope to put out 180,000 trucks so I'm sure that the extra $100 Million Toyota is going to put into the plant here, the Corolla production will be in those plans.
