The ghost of Howard Dean haunts the pundit class. As soon as a candidate of either party spikes up in the polls, he is compared with Dean, who had a spectacular boomlet in the second half of 2003 only to deflate as soon as people began to vote in early 2004. David Petraeus likely would split Democrats in the House and impede his party's efforts to press for a timetable to end the war. Clyburn, in an interview with the washingtonpost.com video program PostTalk, said Democrats might be wise to wait for the Petraeus report, scheduled to be delivered in September, before charting next steps in their year-long struggle with President Bush over the direction of U.S. strategy. You know something just occurred to me. When liberals and Islamists claim that the war on terror has "created new terrorists" because of Muslim anger at our policies and then claim "Islam is a religion of peace" they are not making sense. Here is why: 1. If in making Muslims mad by our policies we are creating NEW terrorists, then Islam is NOT a religion of peace. In fact if Muslim anger results in the creation of new terrorists then all 1 billion Muslims on Earth are potential terrorists (I don’t believe that). 2. Whether or not our policies make...
