The woman arrested Thursday in connection with the death of her live-in boyfriend Wednesday had been arrested at least twice before in domestic incidents involving the same man, records obtained Friday by the Las Vegas Review-Journal show. One of those arrests came in February, and records show the woman, Lah’tijera Howard, 26, admitted at the time to stabbing her boyfriend, Darryl White, 34. Howard was still undergoing domestic violence counseling as a condition of her sentence when White was killed this week.

PARIS — Three women behind a thwarted attack near Notre Dame Cathedral were radicalized by Islamic State commanders in Syria, and one had been engaged to an extremist who killed a priest in July, the Paris prosecutor said Friday. Francois Molins spoke a day after three women were dramatically arrested over the failed attack that centered on a car discovered Sunday morning in central Paris abandoned and loaded with gas canisters. No detonators were found in the car. “In the last few days and hours a terrorist cell was dismantled, composed of young women totally receptive to the deadly Daesh...

NEW BEDFORD — An illegal immigrant twice kicked out of the country — and sporting a “Kiss My Ass” tattoo on his neck — vowed to see his teenage daughter “in hell” as he shot her in the face and pumped her back full of bullets for snubbing him on Father’s Day, authorities said. “It is disturbing that he’d been deported and came back into the country illegally, but he’s here,” Bristol District Attorney Thomas M. Quinn III said yesterday after Walter Gomes DaSilva, a 45-year-old Brazilian, grinned widely as he pleaded not guilty to murder and firearm charges. “This...

Colin Kaepernick has gone through a lot changes this offseason -- he grew out his hair, he lost weight and he's now a vegan, just to name a few of those changes. However, one change he didn't go through is a change of his religion. During his weekly press conference on Wednesday, the quarterback debunked the internet rumors that claimed his girlfriend had convinced him to convert to Islam and become a Muslim.

There are a lot of things to question about the way John Tortorella operates, but one thing that can never be questioned is his overwhelming sense of patriotism. The ex-Rangers coach and now head coach of Team USA at the World Cup of Hockey drove that point home again Tuesday, saying that if any of his players emulate 49ers quarterback Colin Kaepernick and sit for the national anthem, then they will be benched for the entirety of the game. “If any of my players sit on the bench for the national anthem, they will sit there the rest of the...

  • Candid Coaches: Are coaches voting for Trump or Clinton for president?

Yeah, the results were overwhelming. And what's interesting is that the easy win for Hillary Clinton doesn't seem to be much about her at all. Put another way, she didn't win here because these coaches love her or are inspired by her. She won here because, well, because the main person running against her seems unfit and unqualified to be President of the United States. That's the opinion of college basketball coaches, at least.
