The woman arrested Thursday in connection with the death of her live-in boyfriend Wednesday had been arrested at least twice before in domestic incidents involving the same man, records obtained Friday by the Las Vegas Review-Journal show. One of those arrests came in February, and records show the woman, Lah’tijera Howard, 26, admitted at the time to stabbing her boyfriend, Darryl White, 34. Howard was still undergoing domestic violence counseling as a condition of her sentence when White was killed this week.

A Little River woman was shot 13 times by the father of one of her children — a man who was arrested seven years ago for beating her while she was pregnant and who had recently texted her that he was going to shoot and kill her, family members said. Shaqueenia Hanna, 35, was in critical condition Tuesday at Jackson Memorial Hospital. (CNN) — One Ithaca College student was killed and another was injured after being stabbed during a "large fight" on the nearby Cornell University campus early Sunday in Ithaca, New York, officials from both schools said. Cornell University Police were called to the intersection in front of Olin Hall, which houses Cornell's school of chemical and biomolecular engineering, just before 2 a.m. There, they found two men had been stabbed, according to a police news release.

FORT LAUDERDALE (CBSMiami) — Under heavy security, an accused killer who escaped a Broward courthouse, prompting a massive manhunt, faced a judge. Dayonte Resiles, 21, appeared in front of a judge Tuesday morning. He’s also charged with escape after bolting from the Broward County Courthouse courtroom last month. After being on the run for six days, Resiles was tracked to a Days Inn off I-95 in West Palm Beach where he was taken into custody.

A New Jersey woman and an accomplice tried to kill her friend last year and succeeded months later, prosecutors said Wednesday. Police found the body of missing 41-year-old woman Tyrita Julius wrapped in a tarp and buried in the backyard of the Long Branch home of one of her killers Tuesday, according to Monmouth County officials. The University of Mississippi’s marching band will no longer play any variation of the song “Dixie” – a tradition some seven decades old at football games and other sporting events.
