Joshua has been taking the bus to his local Whole Foods in New York City every five days for the past two years. This week, he said he'll go elsewhere to fulfill his fresh vegetable and organic produce needs. "I will never shop there again," vowed Joshua, a 45-year-old blogger, who asked that his last name not be published. Like many of his fellow health food fanatics, Joshua said he will no longer patronize the store after learning about Whole Foods Market Inc.'s CEO John Mackey's views on health care reform, which were made public this week in an op-ed...

Charity Vogel’s article on Gary Ecelbarger’s book on Lincoln’s 16-month period before his 1860 election was interesting. He wrote about Lincoln’s “meteoric rise” and contends Barack Obama’s rise was far less. I respectfully disagree. Lincoln lost “two senatorial races,” says Ecelbarger, but does not point out they were not popular vote elections. Nor does he advise that the 17th Amendment was still years away. Despite those losses, maintains Ecelbarger, because of Lincoln’s “great middle ground message” he secured the Republican nomination. Now, look at Obama. When he lost Super Tuesday to a prominent senator, it seemed like he couldn’t possibly...

Just when I thought O'Reilly's kiester kissing couldn't get any worse... Tonight on "Pinheads and Patriots," he called Obama and Rahm Emanuel "Patriots" for Obama's 2005 roast of "Rahmbo". O'Reilly said, "A sense of humor is always patriotic." GAG! Who paid him to say that?!

I found some eerie excerpts out of "The Rise And Fall of the Third Reich," by William Shirer. I'm typing one up to share with you the freaky similarities I'm already seeing with "The One." Just subsitute Obama for Germany. Seriously. Am I all tin-foil hat? From the book (pg. 245): "Section 14 of the Press Law ordered editors 'to keep out of the newspapers anything which in any manner is misleading to the public, mixes selfish aims with community aims, tends to weaken the strength of the German Reich, outwardly or inwardly, the common will of the German people,...

I apologize but I do have a question. Did anyone else find it odd that during "The One's" over-the-top coronation last night, he was virtually emotionless? I mean, here is this HUGE night, and he delivers the speech in his typical, lilting tone. Not a choke or a lip quiver. He struck me as extremely robotic and cold. Furthermore, I noticed he did not mention his mother or father. No "thanks to my mother for her influence, etc. etc." Just a brief shout out to his late grandmother and his "many brothers and sisters." How many did his father sire?

I realize Hand-out Harry has *most likely* won the presidency. However, in a very heated Congressional race in WNY, it looks as though the Republican, newcomer Chris Lee, has won that race. So that's something to have some celebration over. Right? (Please. I need assurances).

Fox just called GA for McCain...

Barring an extraordinary shock, Barack Obama will win more than 270 electoral votes on Tuesday, giving him the White House. Hours before voting starts, John McCain has no clear path to reaching that same goal. In fact, based on interviews with political strategists in both parties, election analysts and advisers to both presidential campaigns - including a detailed look at public and private polling data - an Obama victory with well over 300 electoral votes is a more likely outcome than a McCain victory. Under the Electoral College system, a candidate wins all of a state's electoral votes as long...

Obama Accepting Untraceable Donations Contributions Reviewed After Deposits By Matthew Mosk Washington Post Staff Writer Wednesday, October 29, 2008; A02 Sen. Barack Obama's presidential campaign is allowing donors to use largely untraceable prepaid credit cards that could potentially be used to evade limits on how much an individual is legally allowed to give or to mask a contributor's identity, campaign officials confirmed. Faced with a huge influx of donations over the Internet, the campaign has also chosen not to use basic security measures to prevent potentially illegal or anonymous contributions from flowing into its accounts, aides acknowledged. Instead, the campaign...

CHICAGO – The Nation of Islam, a secretive movement generally closed to outsiders, has planned a rare open-to-the public event at its Chicago-based headquarters in what the Minister Louis Farrakhan deemed a "new beginning" for the group. Hundreds of religious leaders of different faiths have been invited to the event planned for Sunday, a rededication of the group's historic Mosque Maryam on the city's South Side. Farrakhan is scheduled to speak. "We have restored Mosque Maryam completely, and we will dedicate it to the universal message of Islam, and the universal aspect of the teachings of the Honorable Elijah Muhammad,"...

With profound gratitude and great humility, I accept your nomination for the presidency of the United States. . Let me express my thanks to the historic slate of candidates who accompanied me on this journey, and especially the one who traveled the farthest – a champion for working Americans and an inspiration to my daughters and to yours -- Hillary Rodham Clinton. To President Clinton, who last night made the case for change as only he can make it; to Ted Kennedy, who embodies the spirit of service; and to the next Vice President of the United States, Joe Biden,...

Canberra, Australia (CNN) -- U.S. President George W. Bush has been heckled by Australian parliamentarians during an address in which he thanked the nation for its support in the war on terror. Bush personally lauded Australian Prime Minister John Howard for his "exceptional courage" in committing Australian troops to the war in Iraq and said Australians were traditionally the "first step forward to fight" in a just cause.

New York - If you don't want to bother with the book, there's a Hillary Rodham Clinton TV movie in the works. A&E announced Thursday that it will make a two-hour movie on the New York senator and former first lady that is expected to air in early 2004. No one has been cast yet, but producers already have talked with Sharon Stone about the title role, according to a source close to the production who spoke on condition of anonymity. A&E's announcement comes just days before Clinton's book, Living History, is scheduled to hit bookstores. The senator will be...

Northern Liberty, Iowa - A proposal to build a camp for young Muslims on federal land in Iowa is causing some controversy in the neighborhood. The site in North Liberty, Iowa, used to be a Girl Scout camp - but now the Muslim Youth Camps of America has other plans. "What we want to develop is a youth camp that is a positive environment for Muslim youth and those of other faiths to belong to," said MYCA Director Jalel Aossey. The camp is to be built on federal land and controlled by the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, with a...

New York (AP) - Filmmaker Spike Lee has sued Viacom Inc. over plans to rename its TNN channel Spike TV as part of its campaign to attract male viewers. In court papers filed Tuesday, Lee asked for an injunction against Viacom's use of the name, saying he had never given his consent for it to be used. "The media description of this change of name, as well as comments made to me and my wife, confirmed what was obvious-- that Spike TV referred to Spike Lee," Lee said in court papers.

New York (AP) - In a plea for the life of "Reading Rainbow," host LeVar Burton returned to a familiar setting: the stage where he picked up the PBS show's seventh Emmy Award for best children's television series. "If you are a wealthy philanthropist out there, I'm not that difficult to find," said Burton, the show's executive producer and host since it began in 1983. He's still waiting. And "Reading Rainbow," which has counterintuitively used television to introduce children to a world of books, may only have a few months to live. "Reading Rainbow" has several strikes against it in...
