A Republican donor and operative from Chicago's North Shore who said he had tried to obtain Hillary Clinton's missing emails from Russian hackers killed himself in a Minnesota hotel room days after talking to The Wall Street Journal about his efforts, public records show. In a room at a Rochester hotel used almost exclusively by Mayo Clinic patients and relatives, Peter W. Smith, 81, left a carefully prepared file of documents, which includes a statement police called a suicide note in which he said he was in ill health and a life insurance policy was expiring. Days earlier, the financier...

AUGUSTA — A South Portland Democrat faced sharp criticism Wednesday after suggesting in a Facebook rant that he would harm President Trump. Maine Republicans were furious over the post by Rep. Scott Hamann and called on House Speaker Sara Gideon, D-Freeport, to take action against him. Some, including Maine Republican Party Executive Director Jason Savage, said Hamann should resign. He has removed the post from his Facebook page, but the Maine Republican Party made a copy before he did so. In the closing sentence Hamann writes, “Trump is a half term president, at most, especially if I ever get within...

Jon Ossoff lost the House race in Georgia’s 6th Congressional District despite receiving nearly three-quarters of $1 million from the Planned Parenthood Action Fund. With $734,000 in campaign contributions, the abortion giant was the second-biggest spender on the Democratic side of the ledger — only trailing the Democratic Congressional Campaign Committee, which poured $4.9 million into the race.

VIRGINIA BEACH, Va. (WVEC) – A Virginia Beach mother is calling on SECEP school officials at Renaissance Academy to review its disciplinary procedures after she says her son was left out in the pouring rain for the entire school day. Melody Criger told 13News Now her 16-year-old son was refused entry into the school because he was wearing a cross necklace which holds the ashes of his stepfather. She says it happened on the morning of Tuesday, May 30. “They told him to take the necklace off and he refused, which I understand because it's sentimental to him. He didn't...

It’s fitting that Dan Rather is best known for bringing to the world a piece of fake news about George W. Bush’s Air National Guard service in Texas, because that’s where he began his career in shoddy journalism. The bungling goes all the way back to 1963 Dallas. His presence there on the day President Kennedy was assassinated helped create the legend of Dan, but he actually blew the story that made his name.

MILWAUKEE, Wisc. — The Seventh Circuit Court of Appeals has unanimously ruled that a Wisconsin school district must allow a girl who identifies as a boy to use the boys’ restroom, concluding that the prohibition would likely cause “irreparable harm.” “A transgender student’s presence in the restroom provides no more of a risk to other students’ privacy rights than the presence of an overly curious student of the same biological sex who decides to sneak glances at his or her classmates,” Judge Ann Claire Williams, nominated to the bench by then-President Bill Clinton, wrote on behalf of the three-judge, all-female...

Barack Obama is no longer president, but the birther movement alleging that he was born abroad still lives – thanks to his half-brother. Malik Obama tweeted a copy of what he claims is a valid birth certificate proving that his half-brother was born in Mombasa, Kenya. The 'birth certificate' bears the letterhead of the 'Coast Province General Hospital' in Mombasa. The sex of the baby is male, and the date of birth is listed as August 4, 1961, which is the former president's genuine birthday. The 'document' also lists the names of Obama's parents, Barack Hussein Obama and Stanley Ann...

“There was one time — this was 20 years ago — when I went into Cedars-Sinai for a four-way bypass,” Mr. Woolery said. “I remember that Bruce and Kris Jenner were the first people in to see me. That’s true! Back when Bruce was Bruce. Anyway, the doctors were just ready to put me under anesthesia, and I suddenly shouted: ‘I’m the only conservative in Southern California. If I die, somebody has to vote for Bob Dole!’”

WASHINGTON, Jan. 14— Saying that he feared a mass exodus of Haitians unless he acted, President-elect Bill Clinton announced today that he would at least temporarily abandon a campaign pledge and would continue the Bush Administration's policy of forcibly returning Haitians who try to emigrate to the United States.

The Alabama Supreme Court has ruled that a wrongful death lawsuit brought by a woman who claims her doctor caused her to have a miscarriage by administering an abortion-inducing drug can proceed. Kimberly Stinnett’s usual doctor was reportedly out the day of her appointment. Karla Kennedy, the doctor who was filling in that day, believed that Stinnett had an ectopic pregnancy since she had had one previously. Thus, Kennedy decided to administer methotrexate, a drug that, as the court noted, is “intended to cause the end of the pregnancy.” However, when Stinnett’s usual doctor, William Huggins, examined her pregnancy via...

The Democrat Party has learned no lessons after the drubbing it took at every level of government on election day if its recent moves are any indication. While the state of California is drafting rules to literally curb the supposed global warming effects of cow farts, the Democrat Party in the House voted to keep Calif. Rep. Nancy Pelosi as its minority leader. The vote to keep Pelosi isn’t a big surprise but the move to create regulations for California farmers to curb the effect of cow flatulence is both stunning and absurd. “If we can reduce emissions of methane,...

The Government of Canada's immigration website crashed on Tuesday night as the US election results were rolling in. Around 9:00 PM eastern on Tuesday evening, CNN announced that a number of key states in the election including Michigan, Ohio, Virgina and Florida could all swing in Republican nominee Donald Trump's favor. Hey, for what it’s worth, Breitbart itself broke that BARACK OBAMA was the original Birther, having claimed to have been “born in Kenya” in order to sell his books. And here is the archived Archive.org link to snapshots of Obama’s literary agent’s website quote, that from 2005-2007 published the words ” He was born in Kenya to an American anthropologist and a Kenyan finance minister and was raised in Indonesia, “: Archive.org WayBack Machine – April 31, 2007: We know literary agents get their authors’ bios from the authors themselves. And personally, I don’t think Trump is done with this,...

The Commonwealth of Massachusetts jumped on the transgender bathroom bandwagon Wednesday when its House of Representatives voted 116-36 to move forward with a bill that legally replaces the concept of biological sex with that of gender identity. The "Gender Identity Public Accommodations Bill," or H.4343, seeks to further push for transgender "anti-discrimination" laws in three separate parts. First, it would amend multiple areas of Massachusetts law to replace the word "sex," with "gender identity." Secondly, it would mandate that "[a]ny public accommodation…shall grant all persons admission to and the full enjoyment of such public accommodation or other entity consistent with...

A report by the State Department’s inspector general has concluded that Hillary Clinton did not comply with the agency’s policies on records, Politico is reporting. The report was released to lawmakers on Wednesday. It also revealed that Clinton and her top aides chose not to cooperate with the inspector general’s review, though current Secretary of State John Kerry and several predecessors were interviewed. A copy of the report was obtained by POLITICO. While it concludes there are “longstanding, systemic weaknesses” with State Department records — weaknesses that “go well beyond the tenure of any one Secretary of State,” it specifically...
