Portsmouth, Va. – Portsmouth Sheriff Bill Watson says he is furious after a group of judges told him to take down an American flag display. Sheriff Watson said his agency got the American flag display as a gift from members of the Portsmouth Fire Department a few weeks ago. MILWAUKEE (AP/WITI) — An afternoon protest takes a criminal turn as it veers onto the interstate that lead to more than a dozen arrests. The Sheriff’s Office says the group was stopping traffic and wouldn’t leave the freeway. 14 people were arrested and booked into the Milwaukee County Jail. 3 of those people are from Ferguson, Missouri. A statement from Sheriff David Clarke says: “I have made it very clear that arrests will be made when violations of the law occur, regardless of the protesters’ motivations. MILWAUKEE (AP) — A 5-year-old girl was fatally shot while sitting on her grandfather's lap when two people approached her Milwaukee home and opened fire, according to police, who sought help Friday in finding the suspects. Laylah Petersen was shot in the head when one of a dozen bullets that hit the home came through a wall about 6 p.m. Thursday. Aircraft descended into ocean about 50 miles southeast of Wallops Island, Virginia WAUKESHA, Wis. —A plane that took off from the Waukesha County Airport in Wisconsin has crashed into the Atlantic Ocean. The pilot had not been responding to radio calls since 1 p.m. EDT. RICHMOND, VA (WWBT) - A Cirrus SR22 recreational plane crashed into the Atlantic Ocean Saturday, 51 miles southeast of Chincoteague Island, Va. The Coast Guard reported one person was on board. MILWAUKEE - Patrick Coffey vowed to teach by example, and the judge agreed. The former Dean of Students at the Milwaukee School of Engineering, Coffey will spend the next year in jail and four years on probation. Deputies arrested Coffey in August for drunk driving; DOT video captured Coffey driving on the wrong side of I-43 for more than 14 miles. The U.S. is likely to exhaust its borrowing authority on the earlier side of what Treasury Secretary Jack Lew had estimated, he said in a letter to Congressional leaders on Wednesday. Lew warned in the new letter that Congress will likely need to raise the debt ceiling by late February to avoid a potential default on the country's obligations. A GOP candidate for the Florida House of Representatives is under fire from his own party and said he’s been visited by the Secret Service after he tweeted Monday that President Obama should be hanged for treason.
