We've all read a possible reason why September 11 was chosen for the New York and DC atrocities.... That was the day in 1922 that the League of Nations adopted the British Balfour Declaration, which declared that Israel should have a homeland in Palestine. See, e.g., this link. If this is the reason, then given the current alert, tomorrow, November 2, may be an even more significant date to remember because it is the date in 1917 that the Balfour Declaration was originally declared.See the links for historical references.

The vote in King County (NYC) was Bush 90,355 and Gore 472,402. The vote in Queens County (NYC) was Bush 113,528 and Gore 401,067. One man's prediction: The Fla. legislature will resolve 12/12/00 or 12/13/00 for Bush because it appears that Bush won the election according to duly certified votes. SCOTUS will hold on to their decision until after the Fla. Legislature resolves. After the Fla. Legislature resolves, SCOTUS will strongly hold for Bush on legal grounds, but will simply dismiss the case in the end as moot, since the Fla. legislature will have resolved. Anyone think he might be preparing to concede?

The Bush Campaign tried to expedite and leap frog the appeal in the 11th Cir. to the Supreme Court. SCOTUS denied that appeal. I would assume that the 11th Circuit, which had ordered briefs for early this week is still on track. Has Anyone heard any reports on that? That is the case that deals with the counting of just a few counties state wide and the voter dilution effect of that.
