Fire and EMS officials reported the two-alarm fire around 12:23 a.m. Wednesday at a building at 15th and Euclid streets NW... Officials say the cause of the fire remains under investigation but sources tell ABC7's John Gonzalez that it appears to be accidental. The bio-solids have become particularly important this year. According to Australia's Bureau of Meteorology, Australia experienced its hottest winter on record. That, coupled with frequent frosts, have made it difficult for farmers to grow their crops. But the sewage sludge is more than a simple fertilizer. It's also good for the environment. That's because plant operators are able to make use of an often-ignored waste product. "We beneficially reuse 100 percent of the bio solids that we generate every year, so that's about 180,000 tons of solid matter," said Gavin Landers of Sydney Water.

It was simple – we loved you and you loved us – with all of our races, religions, different backgrounds and politics. Simplicity in a crazy world was pretty awesome. You dear NFL, have taken that. You have lost me here. If you ever want to get off your knees and get to work on building bridges, let me know.

Local animal officials reported finding dozens of dogs chained to trees and parked cars as thousands of people flee the Sunshine State. "The young people in the DACA program need a permanent, commonsense solution that will allow them to continue working and going to school in the only country that many of them have ever known,” Blunt said. “The manner in which this program was created has left DACA recipients in legal limbo for too long, and Congress now has a responsibility to work toward a legislative solution. At the same time, it is imperative that we continue working with the president to strengthen our border security. Enhancing our border security will help facilitate progress toward addressing all aspects of our broken...

Alisyn Camerota asked about her votes on Hurricane Sandy relief, and Lee said she did help "Sandy Hook victims." "As I said, I voted on legislation to help the Sandy Hook victims," Lee replied to Camerota's question. "Superstorm Sandy," Camerota interjected. "Sandy super storm," Lee immediately said, before making the same mistake seconds later. "The Sandy Hook vote took many times and my vote was for the maximum amount of money," Lee said in the course of answering. Later, she was asked about Gov. Chris Christie (R., N.J.) urging House members to fund Hurricane Harvey relief efforts, and Lee called...

Saturday, a KXAN crew booked a room at the Best Western Plus in Robstown, a small town 20 miles west of Corpus Christi. An internet search showed room rates for a two queen bed priced between $120 and $149 a night. But, when it came time to book the room at the hotel’s counter, that price nearly tripled. “What’s the total going to be?” reporter Wes Rapaport asked the hotel clerk. “$321.89,” the clerk responded. A few minutes of questioning ensued about why the price nearly tripled. In a video recorded conversation, the clerk admits the $289 room rates are...

Our veterinarian told us that Leptospirosis (Lepto) is back in the area. He hasn't seen it in decades until a local dog died of it a couple of weeks ago. He gave our two slobber buckets a shot for it this morning and they'll be back for a booster in a month. He's very trustworthy about not prescribing more than is needed and was concerned about it. The bacteria grows in standing water so don't leave buckets or containers outside. We drained the fountain. Years ago, cattle would get it with water sitting in hoof prints on the ground. Hardly...
