On most days, we Americans go about our daily lives without much attention to politics and its impact on our lives. Part of the reason is we hope that no matter how far afield our government goes at any one time, we usually right our ourselves by the next election cycle. That was then, not now.
Quite frankly, we now mistrust most of the media, whether it’s the newspapers, tv, or social media. They all do a lousy job of informing us. But then again, as Mark Twain famously said,-âÂÂIf you donâÂÂt read the newspapers, you are uninformed. If you do read the newspapers, you are misinformed.âÂÂ
In the 30 years that I lived there, just a block away,I never saw anyone eat outside.I looked over there everytime getting on and off the cable car and rarely saw activities outside the building.
Regarding the ramp,it was not ADA compliant, (limited to only more than 30 inch vertical in 30 feet horizontal). In the steep hills of San Francisco we had special material (designed to avoid slipping on ocean oil rigs)applied to our leather shoes in order to prevent this very common problem !
Jim, you are so right calling it pre-rusted steel. It is probably CORTEN, by U.S. STEEL. They were the first to fabricate what is now commonly called weathered steel. Others such as MARY-R came later.
