Twenty Republican senators are set to join with Democrats in upholding LOST. Some who are included in the list of 20 are those who have not yet decided how they will vote on the issue. Thus, the list of 20 includes those who have either declared support for LOST or declined to indicate their views on the subject one way or the other The 20 are: Enzi, McConnell, Hutchison, Toomey, Johanns, Ayotte, Graham, McCain, Lugar, Kirk, Snowe, Collins, Murkowski, Isakson, Grassley, Portman, Corker, Cochran, Brown, and Alexander. One political activist stated that it is important for citizens to call the...
  • Romania’s 20-Year Nightmare: Unraveling Socialized Health Care (our future if not repealed)

In my other life in Communist Romania, I managed a large intelligence organization that, among other tasks, was charged with keeping alive a nationalized health care system which in the end bankrupted the country and generated popular contempt. That system, very similar to the Affordable Health Care for America Act, was a bureaucratic nightmare. And it still is a nightmare in the former Soviet empire.
  • After Roberts: FreedomWorks' Five-Point Plan to Fully Repeal ObamaCare (resist we much)

Although Chief Justice John Roberts this week tragically provided the fifth vote, and the contorted logic, that enabled the Supreme Court to uphold ObamaCare, "We the People" can still repeal it. Here's our five-point plan for doing so. Stop your state from setting up an ObamaCare exchange. Get your state to opt out of the ObamaCare Medicaid expansion. Elect 4 additional pro-repeal Senators, which would give us a pro-repeal majority. Retain and if possible enlarge the existing House majority, which is committed to full repeal. Elect a president who will sign the full repeal bill.

The Obama administration granted more than 1600 waivers over compliance with parts of the Patient Protection Affordable Care Act. The Supreme Court ruling that the individual mandate is a tax will not affect the waivers, as they dealt with what kind of insurance people have, not whether they have it. The ruling, and the waivers, point us directly to the disaster that awaits the country unless the PPACA is fully repealed. (snip) What happens on January 1, 2014? That's when the state-based exchanges are supposed to be up and running, allowing federally subsidized insurance to supplant the policies getting waivers....

orth Carolina Democrat Larry Kissell represents the state’s 8th Congressional district, one of the more closely-watched swing districts. He was one of 17 Democrats who voted to hold Attorney General Eric Holder in criminal contempt of Congress. And now, according to the Charlotte Observer, Kissell will join Republicans in voting to repeal Obamacare.

The year was 1968 and my earliest memory was that of my mother picking me up. She was scared...terrified. I didn't know why mom was so scared but when you're a small child, parents screaming and shouting leaves an indelible mark on you. "They are coming for us...we must leave." My parents were part of the reform movement in Czechoslovakia in the 1960's. Dad was a respected doctor, mom was a nurse. After suffering the tyranny of the Nazis, seeing a once proud and industrial country turned into a Communist hell hole, my parents decided to stand up for increased...

On the eve of the Supreme Court’s decision on Obamacare, taxpayers are reminded that the President’s healthcare law is one of the largest tax increases in American history. Obamacare contains 20 new or higher taxes on American families and small businesses. On Thursday, Americans for Tax Reform will do a full analysis of the tax implications of the Court’s decision. Arranged by their respective effective dates, below is the total list of all $500 billion-plus in tax hikes (over the next ten years) in Obamacare, where to find them in the bill, and how much your taxes are scheduled to...

The New Hampshire legislature on Wednesday overrode Gov. John Lynch’s veto of a voter ID bill, making it the latest state to require that voters present photo identification at the polls. Under Senate Bill 289, which takes effect this September, a variety of identification forms will be acceptable, or residents can sign an affidavit at the polling site to vote. In September 2013, however, that list will be shortened — student ID cards and documents more than 5 years old, for example, will no longer be valid — and voters who prefer to sign affidavits will have to have their...

About five weeks ago or so, Governor Palin endorsed Senator Orrin Hatch in his primary contest with Dan Liljenquist. I join other conservatives like Mark Levin, Sean Hannity, and Tea Party leaders like Sal Russo in encouraging Utah voters to return Orrin Hatch to the U.S. Senate. Since Mark Levin has always got a way with words, read what he recently told Senator Hatch: “I feel that you would be… a terrific elder statesman to a lot of these other young guys who I’m going to be pushing in these other states.” I’m with Mark. That’s spot on. We need...

Jose Antonio Vargas, he may be a Pulitzer prize winner but in reality he's nothing more then a talking head and an illegal one at that. How is it that "Educated people" don't have a friggin clue about the politics they love to talk about? You're telling me that a Pulitzer prize winning author doesn't know that Obama and the dems controlled BOTH sides of the house for 2 years and could have done pretty much anything they wanted including the now so important Dream Act? I have had that very same argument with a liberal couple with whom my...

An article by Michael O'Brien on MSNBC's First Read this morning quotes an "informal" advisor to Mitt Romney's campaign as saying that the presidential candidate is not likely to choose a woman as his running mate because Sarah Palin "poisoned the well" for women, with the possible exception of New Hampshire freshman Sen. Kelly Ayotte.

Today it’s being widely reported that Romney had a moment were he was amazed at the existence of WAWAs, a convenience/gas store, and the electronic touchtone ordering of sandwiches. They have spun this to make it seem like he’s out of touch – BUT THE VIDEO IS EDITED DECEPTIVELY:

Today on Morning Joe Nicole Wallace was sitting in with Joe Scarborough & company (sans Mika) and the subject of President Obama’s statement concerning the “private sector is doing fine”. Plenty of people have hit the president on this but there was an interesting twist on the subject today beginning with the opening. The Show started with John McCain’s “The fundamentals of the economy are sound” statement with the Obama commercial that followed. Then then showed the president’s gaffe and Romney’s ad that followed. Joe, Nichole Wallace Steve Rattner and Mark Halperin started discussing it and comparing it to the...

Clueless or dishonest are the only choices available now. Well, other than “both.” At a House Judiciary Committee oversight hearing Thursday, Rep. Dan Lungren (R-Calif.) asked Holder about the practice [of requiring photo ID to enter federal courthouses], which has been standard procedure at most, if not all, federal courthouses for the last decade or so. “If I were to go to the federal courthouse here in D.C., either as a party or as an attorney, wouldn’t I have to show a government-issued photo ID?” Lungren asked. “That’s not been my experience, here in DC. I don’t — you know,”...

The history of Steve Schmidt’s lies and perpetual backstabbing of Governor Palin have been well documented here and elsewhere. In an article published today in the New York Times (“Fashion & Style” section), he continued his quest to scapegoat his own poor decision-making in 2008 (like telling McCain to suspend his campaign during the financial crisis), and his need for relevancy within political circles, albeit now only with those who reside on the left. The writer who Schmidt sat down with to continue his lucrative charade, is a man by the name of Adam Nagourney. Nagourney was on the list...

The American left as we have come to know it suffered a devastating blow in Wisconsin last night. The organized heart of the left gave everything it had to the fight against Wisconsin Governor Scott Walker: heart, shoe leather, wallet and soul. The left picked this fight, on the issue and in the place of its choice; it chose to recall Walker because it believed it could win a showcase victory. That judgement was fatally flawed; it is part of a larger failure to grasp the nature of American politics and the times in which we live. The left gave...

Deb Fischer's late surge continues to be the focal point of the ongoing post-election analysis of the Republican Senate race. No doubt, there is agreement that Fischer was closing fast as the GOP primary campaign headed to the finish line. Internal polling by Jon Bruning's campaign spotted her moving past Don Stenberg into second place as the candidates rounded the final turn. But the Bruning campaign still expected to eke out a narrow win when voters went to the polls Election Day.
