According to an 86-page report issued by the Department of Justice, six of the most credible witnesses to the shooting of Michael Brown were afraid to give testimony in support of Ferguson, MO, police officer Darren Wilson, because they knew it would undercut the “Hands up, don’t shoot” narrative being advanced by their neighbors and, eventually, by the media. Several expressed concern for their safety should they choose to contradict that narrative publicly. As one witness noted, there were signs in the neighborhood reading “snitches get stitches.” The fear experienced by witnesses to the incident is a constant refrain in...

The news cycle has been dominated by the events in Paris and Charlie Hebdo from last week, but there's another story about backlash against the press that's fallen by the wayside. In late 2012 a small New York Newspaper, The Journal News, decided to publish a map showing local gun owners' home addresses in the wake of the Newtown school shootings. It's natural that a shooting as horrific as Newtown's that anti-gun sentiment would surge, but one would think that news organizations would keep a cooler head before lashing out. The Journal News correctly pointed out that all of the...

About 50 demonstrators performed a "die-in" outside a local Walmart and chanted "poverty is violence," while 100 people disrupted shopping in Emeryville, California, by blocking traffic and yelling, "Stop shopping. Shut it down." The protests were planned to coincide with...

CNN Guest on Brooklyn Cop Shooting: ‘Al Sharpton Got What He Wanted’ by Josh Feldman | 5:30 pm, December 20th, 2014 video 397 No information is yet known about the motivations of the man who fatally shot two NYPD officers today, but that hasn’t stopped people from already drawing conclusions, most noticeably connecting this gunning-down of two officers to recent anti-police sentiment in New York. Retired NYPD detective Harry Houck wasted no time in blaming those protests and the people behind them for what happened today. He said the demonstrations have “all be predicated on lies,” and even went so...

Story from August 2014. I'd like to see the chain of evidence demonstrating that the lyrics and video and pics are indeed of Mike Brown. In any event, enjoy. ---------------------------- “Gentle Giant” Mike Brown Liked Drugs, Ho’s, Killas, and Murders! 21 Aug 2014 Posted by Eric Reed So much for Mike Brown being the “Gentle Giant.” With each passing day, more information is uncovered about his “thug lifestyle.” While none of these things single-handedly justify shooting somebody, the compounding facts and evidence revealing the true character of Mike Brown lend much more validity to Officer Darren Wilson’s account of the...

December 17, 2014, 08:15 am Obamas say they're no strangers to racism By Justin Sink The president and the first lady chronicled a series experiences in People magazine that they say demonstrated some of the latent racism that blacks in America continue to face. "There's no black male my age, who's a professional, who hasn't come out of a restaurant and is waiting for their car and somebody didn't hand them their car keys," the president said. The first lady said someone had asked her husband to get them coffee because he was wearing a tuxedo at a black-tie dinner,...

Last week, Robby wrote here about how "students are so coddled by the feelings-protection regime at university campuses that they now believe disheartening national news developments—such as the grand jury decisions in the Michael Brown and Eric Garner cases—entitle them to final exam extensions." Columbia Law School delayed final exams for students who felt unable to take them in the wake these developments. Students at Harvard and Georgetown began demanding their universities follow suit. One might think that Oberlin College, known for it's ultra-crunchy reputation, would be all about this. At least one professor at Oberlin, however, is having none of...

When students at Columbia and other law schools around the country demanded that exams be postponed because they were traumatized by the Michael Brown and Eric Garner cases, we and many others responded with ridicule. In today’s National Law Journal, a third-year law student at Harvard named William Desmond says that we got it all wrong: the request for extra time for exams was a sign of the students’ strength. For entertainment value, you should read the whole thing, but here are some excerpts: [O]pponents of exam extensions have declared that to grant these requests would be a disservice to...

The man who coined the slogan ‘Hands Up Don’t Shoot’ has landed a government job. Dorian Johnson infamously known as Michael Brown’s accomplice in the strong armed robbery of a convenience store, was captured in surveillance video stealing Swisher Sweets cigarillos minutes before Officer Darren Wilson fatally shot Michael Brown. Johnson was also walking with Brown when they were stopped in the street by Wilson. Johnson was the man who falsely stated that Michael Brown was shot from behind as he surrendered himself to the officer. Autopsy results disproved the claim and showed that Michael brown was forward facing when...

Three women, who appeared to be leaders of the DC Eric Garner/Michael Brown protests, confronted Metropolitan motorcycle officer Robert Wells for not arresting a motorist who hit a protester. The protester later admitted to Officer Wells (who hadn’t witnessed the incident) he put himself in “harms way”. The “leaders” were upset because the motorist had given an officer his driver’s license and had not been arrested.
