The owner of hacking forum called Breached told BleepingComputer that it was responsible for exploiting the weakness (originally obtained from another hacker called "Devil") and dumping the user records. Mobs overwhelmed U.S. Park Police hours before the U.S. Capitol was breached on Jan. 6, according to government watchdog Citizens for Responsibility and Ethics in Washington (CREW). According to Park Police radio recordings obtained by CREW, officers had been overwhelmed and left with insufficient resources to control crowds along the National Mall. The recordings reveal that Park Police were confronted with one crowd at the Washington Monument the morning of Jan. 6. The officers were told to do their best to hold them back, but the situation was worsening quickly.

A user in a low level hacking forum has published the phone numbers and personal data of hundreds of millions of Facebook users for free online. The exposed data includes personal information of over 533 million Facebook users from 106 countries, including over 32 million records on users in the US, 11 million on users in the UK, and 6 million on users in India.
