While the economy is in a Obama-meltdown, our new President finds time to work on his bowling form. For folks that may be unemployed or losing their homes it must be re-assuring that his game has improved.

In his history-making appearance on the Tonight Show, President Barack Obama stunned the nation with his offhand crack “I bowl like one of those retards in the Special Olympics.” During last Fall’s presidential race, Obama inspired titters by scoring a 37 in a bowling match in Pennsylvania. He says, though, that he’s been practicing in the White House alley and has recently scored as high as 129 in a single game. Press Secretary Robert Gibbs asked that Americans “show some class by not mocking the President’s lack of skills or his choice of words in describing them. The President has...

It was all going so well as the President chatted to Jay Leno. Then he made a crack about the Special Olympics ... It was billed as the first time that a sitting President of the United States had appeared as a guest on a late-night talk show. After Barack Obama’s performance on The Tonight Show with Jay Leno, there’s also a good chance that it was the last. Granted, the President, as always, was charming. Granted, he lit up the studio with that Hollywood-grade smile. Yes, he explained the AIG crisis in clear, measured terms, and wisely backed away...

Reporting from Chicago -- When she met Barack Obama two years ago, Caitlin Cox proudly wore the two bronze medals she had won at the Special Olympics. The then-Illinois senator grinned as she showed him pictures of her signature bubble-gum-pink bowling ball and posed for photographs with her. Cox, who has Down syndrome, excitedly recalls that meeting each time she sees Obama's photo on a magazine cover or hears him mentioned on TV. Her ears perked up again Friday morning as her parents discussed the president at breakfast. Her mother, Suzanne Thompson, told her that Obama had made a joke...

President Obama joked Thursday that his bowling ability was suitable for the Special Olympics, a comment for which he later apologized. But one Special Olympics bowler has a few tips for the president on how to improve his score. Tim Maloney, a 38-year-old with Down Syndrome who has been bowling for 30 years, said the president needs to practice more if he wants to bring his recent score of 129 anywhere close to Maloney's average of 165. "Focus, take his time, and relax" where the simple-but-effective tips Maloney offered the president in a phone interview Friday with FOXNews.com from...

In case you haven’t see it yet, President Obama channeled Joe Biden last night and said something offensive and stupid on the Tonight Show. [VIDEO] Seems Obama went bowling while on the campaign trail last summer and embarrassed himself by rolling a 37. He explained to Jay Leno that he’s been practicing on the White House bowling alley, but said his lack of success is “like Special Olympics or something.” [VIDEO] Next we have MSNBC’s Keith Olbermann. He had seen an early NBC feed of the Tonight Show and was horribly dismayed by Obama’s remark. Not because it was offensive,...

ANN ARBOR, Mich. (AP) - The top bowler for the Special Olympics looks forward to meeting President Barack Obama in an alley. "He bowled a 129. I bowl a 300. I could beat that score easily," Michigan's Kolan McConiughey (KO-lahn Mc-KAHNA-he) told The Associated Press in an interview Friday.

President on Leno: Bowling Skill... Nice cover fire Keith! Keep laying it down until Obama is in the high grass then we'll all pretend this never happened. Count the times Keith says to Craig "What do we do?" What do you mean by "we" White man? Nice distraction Craig! It certainly never would of happened on Letterman! Now let us all imagine for a nanosecond if George W. Bush had made that comment. Good! You can all focus on Bush Hate now that your tanks have been re-filled. Still focusing? Good! Now think of all the times Bush was...

ROCKLIN, Calif. – Police said a dispute over bowling etiquette led one man to assault another with a 16-pound ball, knocking out one of the man's teeth. They said a 24-year-old man hit a man in the face with the bowling ball during a melee involving six bowlers at the Rocklin AMF Lanes. Two groups got into a fist fight about 12:40 a.m. Thursday after two bowlers approached the lane at the same time. They couldn't agree which should go first.

His controversial joke hadn't even aired yet when President Obama got on the phone from Air Force One Thursday night to apologize for comparing his notoriously bad bowling skills to the Special Olympics. "He expressed his disappointment and he apologized, I think in a way that was very moving," Tim Shriver, the chairman of the Special Olympics board, told "Good Morning America" today. "He expressed that he did not intend to humiliate this population, certainly didn't want to embarrass or give anybody any more reason for pain or just suffering I would say," said Shriver, who received the call from...

The first appearance by a sitting president on "The Tonight Show" may well end up being the last. President Obama, in his taping with Jay Leno Thursday afternoon, attempted to yuk it up with the funnyman, and ended up insulting the disabled. Towards the end of his approximately 40-minute appearance, the president talked about how he's gotten better at bowling and has been practicing in the White House bowling alley. He bowled a 129, the president said. "That's very good, Mr. President," Leno said sarcastically. It's "like the Special Olympics or something," the president said. When asked about the remark,...

By now, people are becoming aware of Barack Obama's bowling comment on Jay Leno. He compared his 129 to Special Olympics. How sensitive of our Kenyan president.

As some of you might recall, Obama bowled a 37 during the campaign. I put up a post that showed the averages of little Bantam bowlers. Even 6-year-old girls could beat him.

FLORENCE — Bowling a 300 game is a once in a lifetime dream. But for Penrose resident Ector Rodriguez, he managed to bowl two 300 games in about a month at Fremont Lanes. “In order to get recognition for a 300 game, you have to do it on a sanctioned league,” said Rodriguez, who is a member of Fremont Lanes team. On Jan. 14, he bowled a 300 game then repeated it Feb. 15. Rodriguez said he threw the ball along the center board and managed to make strikes throughout the game. Then in the 12th game, “I missed my...
